The wife of the cop who was filmed kissing another woman in his police cruiser has lashed out, telling his mistress to "rot in hell".

As previously reported, an investigation has been launched into the actions of Prince George's County Police Officer Francesco Marlett after a viral TikTok video captured him kissing a woman before they got into the car together.

The Prince George's County Police Department swiftly initiated an investigation, and released a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter), which read: "As soon as we became aware earlier today, we opened an investigation to determine the circumstances."

Responding to the public outcry, Paula Marlett, the officer's wife, took to Facebook to address the incident.

"Yes this is a very tough time for me and my kids. As embarrassing and painful as this is please check in on us. We need the support the love and most of all the respect from the community and our families," she wrote.

Adding that she knew what was going on and that she wouldn't be updating her followers any further after this statement, she said: "Virginia's husband left her a** a long time ago bc she cheated so she and my husband decided to do this behind my back for years."

Paula went on: "I’m not seeking anyone else’s input, I don’t need anyone’s opinion. My life is my life. I will make decisions according. I Love you all. Except for you Virginia you can rot in hell b****."

Virginia didn't take too kindly to words against her, so took to her own Facebook profile to offer her side of events.

She wrote: "Not that I owe anyone an explanation, this girl has been cheating on her husband for a while now herself. I know everything.

"Everyone look this is life and y'all know nothing. I've done nothing wrong. All I wanna say is y'all have the wrong info. Paula Marlett isn't saying the whole story which I understand but please dont be mad at me because your husband wants me."

Nelson Ochoa, the person who recorded the viral video, shared his account of the incident with NBC Washington. He began filming when he noticed Officer Marlett arriving in his cruiser. "As soon as I started recording, a car pulled up, and a young lady came out," he explained.

Ochoa detailed how the pair entered the cruiser and, after approximately 40 minutes, left in different directions. "We couldn't believe what we were seeing, and what really made us go, 'Wow, this is crazy,' is when the car started rocking a little bit to the left and right. That's when we were like, this is crazy. In broad daylight with kids around," he added.

This is not Officer Marlett's first encounter with controversy. According to FOX5, he faced suspension without pay in 2016 after being accused of assaulting his girlfriend's three-year-old child to the point of unconsciousness. Ultimately, the charges were dropped, and his record was expunged.

Officer Marlett remains suspended as the investigation is ongoing.
