An EasyJet flight bound for Ibiza soared to viral stardom this week - but for all the wrong reasons.

A passenger identified as Piers Sawyer has gained notoriety as the "mile-high sex lad" in the UK press, after engaging in a sexual encounter with a woman he met en route to the party island.

The 23-year-old spoke candidly to The Sun, revealing: “I didn’t even get her number.” This high-altitude escapade has been viewed millions of times on social media, sparking reactions and discussions around public conduct, airline policies, and what one should and shouldn't do at 33,000 feet.

The story unfolded on Piers' 23rd birthday. Starting his celebration with drinks as early as 10:00AM, Piers and his older brother, Harrison, boarded their 7:00PM flight from Luton Airport, decidedly tipsy. The woman in question was seated in front of them, and after a seat swap initiated by Harrison, the pair soon found themselves tucked away in the airplane lavatory.

Watch the moment they return from the restroom below:

"It just happened after a long day of drinking. I didn’t see the girl until we boarded," Piers recalled. About 40 minutes into the flight, the duo was caught in the act as a steward opened the lavatory door, much to the amusement of other passengers who cheered as the door swung open.

Piers, who services cars for a living, acknowledged his poor judgment. “Because I was so out of it, I didn’t really care but later on it hit me," he stated. Following the viral event, EasyJet informed the brothers that they were no longer welcome to fly with the airline, resulting in them shelling out an extra £360 for a Tui flight back to Stansted and an Uber ride home.

Elaine, Piers' 51-year-old mother, shared her side of the story as well. "I was watching Loose Women and they were talking about it on there, and some of Piers’s friends started sending me the clip," she said. Her verdict? "It’s not something a mom wants to see," but attributed her son's rash behavior to youthful exuberance and the atmosphere of the "party plane" to Ibiza.

Elaine also criticized the steward's decision to open the lavatory door, stating: "The whole flight was egging him on and even he was laughing.” An EasyJet spokesperson confirmed that police met the flight upon arrival due to the behavior of two passengers.

Under the Sexual Offences Act of 2003, engaging in sexual activities in a public lavatory is an offense, punishable by up to 6 months of imprisonment or a fine, or both.
