Prince Harry has revealed that Meghan Markle didn't act on her suicidal thoughts as it would have been "unfair" on him - considering he had already lost his mother, Princess Diana.

Prince Harry's new mental health docuseries The Me You Can't See has now arrived on the streaming platform Apple TV. And with it, a string of new bombshell revelations has come to the fore.

In the new documentary, made in collaboration with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke of Sussex candidly reveals the major factor that ultimately made Meghan decide against ending her own life.

He reveals, per People: "The thing that stopped her from seeing it through was how unfair it would be on me after everything that had happened to my mum and to now be put in a position of losing another woman in my life, with a baby inside of her, our baby."

Check out the trailer below:

Prince Harry, 36, tragically lost his mother, Princess Diana in 1997 when he was only 12 years old. His beloved mother died alongside her partner, Dodi Fayed at the same age that Harry is now in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris.

Elsewhere in the documentary, the ex-senior royal went into detail about his 39-year-old wife's state of mind when she opened up to him about her suicidal thoughts.

According to Harry, Meghan even explained to him the logistics of how she would go about ending her life.

He said: "Meghan decided to share with me the suicidal thoughts and the practicalities of how she was going to end her life. The scariest thing for her was her clarity of thought. She hadn't 'lost it.' She wasn't crazy."

Prince Harry also added that Meghan's frame of mind hadn't been affected by medication, stimulants, or alcohol.

The Duke went on: "She wasn't self-medicating, be it through pills or through alcohol. She was absolutely sober. She was completely sane. Yet in the quiet of night, these thoughts woke her up. I'm somewhat ashamed of the way that I dealt with them."

This comes after Meghan opened up about her depression and suicidal ideations in her groundbreaking interview with Oprah back in March.

She told the media mogul: "We had to go to this event after I told Harry I didn't want to be alive anymore. In the pictures, I see how tightly his knuckles are gripped around mine.

"We are smiling, doing our job. In the Royal Box, when the lights went off, I was just weeping.

"I was really ashamed to have to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, but I knew that if I didn't say that I would do it. I just didn't want to be alive anymore."

Apple TV's The Me You Can't See is now streaming online.
