UK train attack survivor reveals knifeman’s chilling 6-word response after she begged for her life

A horrifying knife attack on a UK train left multiple people injured and a nation in shock — with survivors now sharing the chilling details of what happened during the unthinkable ordeal.

The violent incident unfolded on Saturday evening, November 1, aboard a train heading from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. As the train passed through Peterborough, emergency calls began to flood in, describing a knifeman moving through the carriages, stabbing anyone in his path.

By 7:39PM, the train made an emergency stop at Huntingdon Station in Cambridgeshire, where armed police stormed aboard.

Two men, aged 32 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. One has since been released with no further action.

“He Came at Me with the Knife”: Eyewitnesses Speak Out

One of the passengers caught in the chaos was 48-year-old Danya Arnold, who was traveling with her friend Andy Gray.

Speaking to The Sun, she recounted the moment she found herself face-to-face with the attacker.

“I was going with the crowd but then I got knocked into some seats,” she said. “I looked back and saw the knifeman running so I slid down to the floor.”

“He came at me with the knife and I begged ‘please don’t.’ Then something shifted in his face and he just carried on. I feel very fortunate to still be alive.”

But that wasn’t the end of her encounter. Danya said the suspect returned shortly after.

“Then a minute or so later he came back through,” she continued, “looked at me again and said ‘the devil’s not going to win’ and continued on. I was waiting cause I could still hear him in the carriage. I heard the doors open and ran off the train.”

She later saw police taser the suspect “by the taxi rank.”

Dozens Injured, Two Still Fighting for Their Lives

A total of 11 victims required hospital treatment. While four have since been discharged, two individuals remain in life-threatening condition, according to the British Transport Police. Among those injured was a train staff member who had reportedly tried to intervene.

Authorities confirmed that both suspects are British nationals.

Although counter-terrorism officers were initially called in to assess the situation, police have now stated that the event appears to be “an isolated attack” with “no evidence suggesting the attack was terrorism-related,” The Guardian reported.

“I Used My Belt as a Tourniquet”: Hero Passenger Helps Wounded Teen

While Danya escaped the attacker, her friend Andy Gray found himself helping one of the young victims, believed to be in his late teens or early twenties.

“A young lad there was only 19 or 20 and had been cut and stabbed really badly. He had a gash on his arm and had several puncture wounds under his arm,” Andy said.

“He somehow got past me and was panicking walking through saying ‘please somebody help me, I’ve been stabbed.’”

Fearing an arterial bleed, Andy used his own belt as a makeshift tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

“The attacker was just stabbing anybody who he could find. I don’t know how it started or why,” he added.

Man Charged

As reported by BBC News, 32-year-old Anthony Williams from Peterborough has been charged with 10 counts of attempted murder.

He will appear at Peterborough Magistrates' Court later this morning.

There is also an additional charge of bodily harm which is related to an alleged assault on a police officer while in custody.
