Rare footage of the 9/11 tragedy has been shared online, with users still in shock at the infamous terrorist attack.
On September 11, 2001, four passenger planes were hijacked by the terrorist group al-Qaeda and flown into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Virginia, and a field in Pennsylvania.
To this day, it is the biggest terrorist attack in human history, with the deaths of 2,977 people shaking the world to its core.
The attack on the World Trade Center is likely the most recognizable among the public, as it destroyed two iconic skyscrapers which helped make up the Big Apple's skyline.
As for the plane that crashed in a field, it was a failed attempt to hit either the White House or the US Capitol building, with passengers trying to fight off hijackers.
Videos of the incident have constantly been rediscovered online, given that many in New York that fateful day managed to film the disaster on their early digital age devices.
An estimated 6,000 to 25,000 people were left injured in the aftermath of the attacks, with the 25th anniversary of the attacks approaching later this month.
Now, an X user has uploaded a lesser-known angle of the Twin Towers, garnering hundreds of thousands of views from users.
He wrote: "This is the first time I see [sic] this video clip and I thought I saw them all in the last 25 years since 9/11."
The video showed the aftermath of the first aircraft hitting the North Tower, from the perspective of a helicopter nearby, while also managing to catch the second aircraft crashing into the South Tower.
A newscaster can be heard speaking about the first hit and the horrid aftermath, before being left confused by the second, initially questioning whether something happened to the South Tower, as some didn't see the second plane coming.
One viewer recalled: "I have also never seen this one. I was near there that day. Surreal remembering that moment now."
It may have been a quarter of a century since the tragedy, but people still stop in their tracks when footage of 9/11 does the rounds on social media.
Someone commented below the footage: "I watched this that morning. I didn’t see the second plane either. Somebody called in and told them a second plane hit the tower.
"The newscaster said, 'you’re there?' The woman said 'no, I’m home watching on TV! Replay it! Look at the screen to the right!' They did and we saw."
Another wrote: "How the reporter missed the other incoming airplane. And yeah, it is the other building."
A third added: "It was such a terrible and heartbreaking moment," with other users claiming that this is upscaled footage of a news report from that fateful day.
