AI predicts winner of AOC vs. JD Vance presidential race - the result may surprise you
As we fast approach the 2026 US midterm elections, questions have started to surface about who Donald Trump's successor may be.
We are still over two years out from the next President being elected, but it seems that there are two projected frontrunners for the role.
They have been touted as Republican JD Vance, the current Vice President, or leading Democratic candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC).
The latter has been critical of the Trump Administration since his first term in the White House started a decade ago, but she has never confirmed that she'd run for President.
However, Vance has spoken about taking over from Trump in the past if the opportunity arose.
During an interview on Fox News' The Story with Martha McCallum, he was asked about his 2028 election plans and he said that he's only been Vice President a year and six months, adding: "Why don’t I do as good of a job as I can in this job, we’ll worry about the next job sometime in the future."
AI predicts 2028 Presidential election
A hypothetical election has been simulated, revealing that AOC may stand a chance at becoming the first female President in US history.
Again, she was asked on ABC's This Week about the possibility earlier this month, to which she admitted: “I haven’t ruled out the possibility.”
Quantus Insights’ national survey polled 1,200 likely voters from August 26 to 28, using SMS and compiled the findings using AI.
It revealed that Vance led AOC by 3.3 points, a smaller gap than many would have assumed.
The poll considered several key metrics, with facts like age, race, sex, education, party, and metro type all playing a part.
The margin of error was also set to plus or minus 3.2 percentage points, meaning that AOC is far closer to Vance than expected, and there are still over two years to go until the next election.
AI also weighed in, stating to UNILAD: "JD Vance — probably around 55/45."
However, the chatbot said it didn't want to give Vance a higher chance, with Trump's approval allegedly 'sitting at just 33%' in the latest polls.
Democrats may be starting to rise in popularity as they look to rectify issues such as the cost-of-living, with some voters reconsidering whether they'd want another Republican-led government.
Could AOC get more points?
AI described AOC as a 'polarizing figure', with Vance being the favorite due to his powerful position in the White House and the Republican Party.
While AOC could become the leader of the Democratic party, she is still considering the prospect, potentially challenging Chuck Schumer for Senate.
Obviously, there are other issues such as the Electoral College and voter confidence, which could be an issue for the New York-based politician.
But while these are just predictions based on what's happening in 2026, neither AOC or Vance has officially declared that they will be running for President.
Looking at the poll statistics, 48.7 per cent of women would vote for AOC, while just 37.1 percent would vote for Vance.
When it came to men, Vance was backed by 53.9 percent, with just 34.4 percent going to AOC.
Younger voters, such as those aged 18 to 29, looked to favor AOC with a difference of 53.4 percent to 24.9 percent.
Unsurprisingly, those aged 65 and older preferred Vance by 51.6 percent to AOC's 37 percent.
The Quantus Insights also showed that people of color leaned towards a Democratic vote, while white voters leaned the other way.
