People point out awkward wardrobe malfunction during Trump's on-stage moment with Jake Paul
YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has faced a surge of backlash after appearing at a rally connected to the Trump administration, with some people joking that he “missed the memo” after what many described as a noticeable wardrobe malfunction.
On Wednesday, the outspoken 29-year-old stepped onto the stage at the Verst Logistics facility in Boone County, Kentucky, after being invited by U.S. President Donald Trump to address Republican supporters.
During the event, Trump praised Paul, calling him a “courageous guy” and “a hell of a fighter,” and even suggested the former Disney Channel star might consider a future in politics.
With the unnerving prospect of Paul rendezvousing in the world of diplomacy firmly implanted into our consciousness, the YouTube supremo took to the stage, complimenting their style, saying people in Kentucky had “a lot of swag,” and suggesting that the “future of America” was likely among those listening.
Paul noted that he grew up only a few hours away and credited his father with teaching him how to fight. The distinctive blonde-haired fighter added that everyone’s voice matters in the United States and said he is never afraid to speak his mind, before thanking Trump and saying it was a blessing to represent the country.
Why did Jake Paul's appearance have everyone talking?
It wasn’t just the controversial influencer’s appearance at the event that quickly gained traction across social media, with his choice of attire also causing quite the stir.
Paul chose a tan suit paired with a white shirt and grey tie, while Trump wore a navy suit, white shirt, and purple tie.
Viewers quickly noticed what appeared to be sweat marks forming under Paul’s arms during the event. Photos and videos circulating online seemed to show perspiration soaking through his white shirt and the underarms of his light-colored jacket.
Social media's comical response
Social media users reacted with jokes and criticism. One person wondered how someone could sweat through a suit like that, while another commented that he must not have received the “memo about tan suits.” Someone else shared a photo of former President Barack Obama wearing a similar tan suit, joking that Obama never had that problem.
However, not everyone joined in the mockery. Some supporters defended Paul, pointing out his rise from modest beginnings to becoming a figure of wealth and influence, criticizing people for mocking him over sweat stains. Another person argued that the suit’s color simply made any moisture more visible.
Ironically, Paul is also the founder and co-owner of the deodorant brand W, which launched in 2024. The product line is aimed at people with active lifestyles and is marketed as being free from parabens, phthalates, and artificial dyes. Paul previously explained that he created the brand because he felt there were no modern personal care options that avoided potentially harmful ingredients while still working effectively.
Whether it was his nerves getting the better of him, the mild Kentucky weather, or just a genetic predisposition to perspiring, Paul has once again got people talking.
