Bill Clinton slammed for thing he appeared to do while looking at old photos from Epstein Files
Bill Clinton has been slammed online after footage of his Jeffrey Epstein deposition was released.
The former President continues to deny any wrongdoing, but was grilled about his alleged involvement with the late disgraced financier.
Clinton Appears to Smile at Images
After the footage was released, people were quick to notice that Clinton seemed quite light hearted about the whole thing.
A video that is circulating online seems to show the former President looking at images of himself in the files and cracking a smile.
Sitting with his lawyers, Clinton flicks through a few pages while appearing to laugh - though the exact content of what he was looking at is unknown.
One person, clearly furious, wrote on X: "Look at this disgusting pos here... Clinton smirking and laughing as he goes through old emails and photos from an Epstein Files excerpt."
A second said: "Bill Clinton sees photos from the Epstein files and smiles, unable to stop looking at them. His lawyer snatches them from his hands."
Bill Clinton’s Deposition: Trump, Epstein, and Hot Tub Questions
Bill Clinton’s deposition also revealed new insights into his connection to Epstein and his interactions with President Donald Trump, per BBC News.
During his lengthy deposition, Clinton was asked about his interactions with Trump regarding Epstein.
"That's for you to decide," Clinton replied when asked if Trump should be compelled to testify.
However, Clinton recounted a conversation with Trump from around 2002 or 2003 where the two discussed Epstein. Clinton recalled Trump saying: “We were friends and then we had a falling out over a land deal. That’s all.”
Clinton acknowledged that Trump must have known about his previous flights on Epstein’s private plane but added that the conversation did not have any “sexual spin.”
The Infamous Hot Tub Photo: Bill Clinton Responds
One of the more curious moments in Clinton’s deposition involved a controversial photo released by the Justice Department. The image, which shows Clinton lounging in a hot tub with an unidentified person, has sparked public interest.
When questioned about the photo, Clinton explained he had no knowledge it was taken. "I don’t think I ever knew the photo was taken," Clinton stated.
He added that he was “almost sure” it was taken during a trip to Brunei at the end of an exhaustive Asia trip.
Clinton explained that the Sultan of Brunei had invited him to stay at a hotel, where he used the pool before retiring to bed. When asked about the other individual in the photo, Clinton said: “I don’t know who that is.”
Pressed on whether any sexual activity had taken place that evening, Clinton firmly denied it, shaking his head.
The photo sparked further questions about the nature of Epstein’s connections, with other images also released showing individuals in the same pool area, including Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s co-conspirator currently serving prison time.
Bill Clinton Denies Knowledge of Epstein’s Crimes
Bill Clinton, in his opening statement, categorically denied having any prior knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities.
“I was a brief acquaintance of Jeffrey Epstein,” Clinton said, clarifying that their relationship had ended years before Epstein’s crimes became public. He added that he hoped his involvement in the investigation would help ensure such abuses would never happen again.
Clinton expressed sympathy for Epstein’s victims and maintained that his connection to Epstein was purely based on charity work.
Clinton on Ghislaine Maxwell: A "Sad" Friendship
Later in his testimony, Clinton was asked about Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking minors for Epstein.
When asked whether Donald Trump should pardon Maxwell, Clinton declined to comment.
“It was really hard for me when it came out,” Clinton said of Maxwell’s arrest. “I was friendly with her.” Clinton added that he was "sad" about the revelations but acknowledged that “it was terrible what she did and she should be punished.”
Documents released by the Justice Department do not show any direct communication between Clinton and Epstein.
