A brave officer rescuing a distraught six-year-old girl who had been allegedly kidnapped by a stranger was caught on a bodycam.
It was reported on July 2 that a stranger pulled up and got out of his vehicle in Valley Station, Louisville, before grabbing a little girl from her bicycle.
The stranger subsequently threw her into the car by the collar and drove away.
A father and son who witnessed the ordeal immediately got into their own car and began following the kidnapper as they called 911.
Watch the dramatic bodycam footage of the moment the suspect is confronted below:Officer Beth Ruoff of Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) told The Epoch Times that they were able to give police "a very detailed" account of the event.
This included a description of the red Dodge Challenger and its driver as well as partially deciphering a license plate.
Several officers were then dispatched from the LMPD’s third division, according to the statement, and K9 and airborne units followed to help with the rescue.
Officer Jason Burba and Sergeant Joe Keeling were able to get the young girl back where she belonged within half an hour.
Officer Burba's bodycam footage shows him running toward the alleged kidnapper's car, opening the door, and rescuing the crying child.
As she held onto her rescuer, the girl wept: "I want my Daddy!"
She was reunited with her family shortly after making this heartbreaking statement.
The suspect was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping a minor, but he pled not guilty, WAVE 3 News reported.
He is now being held on a $1 million bond.
"It's like the world stops… every second feels like hours," Officer Burba told Wave 3 News of the rescue.
He explained that because the passenger window of the car was so dark, he had no idea what he would find when he opened it.
The LMPD's incident report shared with The Epoch Times revealed that the suspect had no relationship or connection with the girl.

A video captured on a police bodycam has emerged this week, which shows the moment cops found an eight-year-old kidnapped girl.
According to a report by NBC News, the incident occurred in a hotel room in Fort Worth, Texas. The video was recorded the day after May 18, 2019 - after a girl who been walking down 6th Avenue with her mother was snatched her off the street by a man driving a Ford Sedan. The girl's mother attempted to fight off the man but was thrown from the vehicle and left behind.

Meanwhile, CBS DFW has named Michael Webb as the kidnapper. Webb was sentenced to life in federal prison after a jury found him guilty of kidnapping the girl .
A tip-off from a suspicious hotel clerk led the police to Webb's hideout, but police investigators from the Forest Hill Police Department were unable to find the girl during a hasty search of the room.
Later, local pastor Jeff King spotted Webb’s car in the WoodSprings parking lot and called the police again. They searched the hotel room yet again, and found the child sequestered away in a laundry basket.

Commenting on the case, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Erin Nealy Cox told NBC News: "They were very worried about her well-being and her physical well-being and whether or not she’s safe. When they find her, you hear how just emotional it is for everyone. They are just so happy and relieved that they have her."
The child has not been named by the police or by the media, due to the nature of the incident.

Bodycam footage from police officers in Kissimmee, Florida, has been released showing the moment a team of cops saved a one-year-old boy from choking as his distressed mom helplessly watched on, the Daily Mail has reported.
On Saturday evening, one-year-old baby 'MJ' started turning blue after a goldfish cracker became lodged in his windpipe. Writing about the horrifying incident on Facebook, MJ's mom, Amanda Zimmerman, recalled the moment she noticed her son struggling to breathe: "He swallowed one whole and he began to choke. Nothing I did was working and I could see he was starting to turn blue."
It was at this moment that the panicked mom ran out of her house and into the street in order to find help. Fortunately, at around 18:15, police officer Miguel Lanzo was passing by in his patrol car.
In her Facebook post, the mom recalls: "I flagged him down with my son in my hands and handed him to the officer".
Lanzo then called for help and additional officers arrived on the scene. Incredible bodycam footage then shows the dramatic rescue as it unfolded in front of the helpless Zimmerman, who can be heard screaming "Oh my god!"
Check out the bodycam footage below. These officers are true heroes:

As another officer takes the distressed mother to the side, Lanzo can be heard saying, "He's not responding". A third officer then takes baby MJ and continues to pat him on the back. The officers then turn the one-year-old over to attempt the Heimlich maneuver.
Zimmerman later described the incident on Facebook as "'the worst thing a mother could imagine".
After endlessly applying lifesaving techniques, a limp MJ is then passed over to the first responders who arrived on the scene. After being transferred to a nearby hospital, MJ was declared to be in a stable condition, despite not breathing for "10 minutes", the Mail reports.
While admitting that the entire ordeal turned her into a "complete mess", Zimmerman did say that it was no coincidence that the officers were around at the very moment she needed them the most. MJ was released from the intensive care unit a day later and made a "full recovery".
Bodycams are incredible pieces of technology everybody should be thankful for. This is the moment a cop saved a man from drowning:

At a press conference on Wednesday, Zimmerman praised the heroic officers who acted so quickly to save her son's life. Writing on her Faebook page, she said: "To all the officers on scene, the EMT team, the nurses, emergency room doctors, ICU doctors, I can never express or put into words how thankful I am. You all saved my son's life. Every hand that touched him and was there, I am THANKFUL.
"You are all heroes. True heroes,' she wrote. 'God is good and everything happens for a reason."

A six-year-old girl was filmed begging for help as she was arrested by Orlando police and had her wrists zip-tied.
The incident took place in September when Kaia Rolle, six, was arrested for battery after she was reported for throwing a tantrum and kicking a teacher. After being successfully apprehended, she was transported by police to a juvenile center.
Watch the shocking footage below:
[[youtubewidget||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSvWz6t3tfs]]
In the bodycam footage, Kaia can be heard asking an officer with zip ties: "What are those for?" and police officer Dennis Turner responds: "They're for you."
The ties are then put onto the six-year-old's hands by a second, unidentified officer, and she bursts into tears.
Kaia then begs the officers not to harm her and cries: "Help me. Help me, please!" Then, as she is directed to the police car, she says: "I don't want to go in a police car."
In response to this, the second police officer says: "You don't want to? You have to." The six-year-old then pleads: "Please, give me a second chance."
Turner was later fired for failing to get the permission of a watch commander to arrest a minor below the age of 12.
This black man was arrested by a white cop for eating a sandwich on a train platform:

The footage shows the child being lifted into the back seat of the police car. A belt is put around her before the officer returns to the school to talk to administrators, who are visibly dismayed by what has happened.
Turner explains to them that the juvenile detention center is "not like you think". He adds that he has made more than 6,000 arrests, one of which was of a seven-year-old.
Employees at the school then tell Turner that Kaia is six, not eight like he had thought, and in response, he says: "Now she has broken the record."
The six-year-old's grandmother, Meralyn Kirkland, has since spoken out in her defense, explaining that Kaia's violent temper is a side effect of a medical condition that causes an individual's breathing to start and stop when they sleep - sleep apnoea.
Those with the condition are often tired and irritable during the day and suffer from headaches and mood swings.
Kaia's mugshot and fingerprints were taken before she was released.
Per the Mirror, Meralyn told WKMG: "How do you do that to a six-year-old child and because she kicked somebody? A literal mugshot of a six-year-old girl."
An internal investigation has now been launched into the incident, per the Metro.

Police in Western Australia have released footage of the moment four-year-old Cleo Smith was rescued by officials after allegedly being abducted 18 days prior.
Cleo had been missing since October 16 and is believed to have been snatched by a stranger during a family camping trip.
Investigators found the little girl alive and well after smashing their way into a locked house in Carnarvon - just a seven-minute drive from her family's home.
Check out the moment Cleo Smith is rescued by police after going missing for more than two weeks:In the short video taken at night time, Cleo is seen being carried by a police officer in a hat and a hoodie as she is greeted by one of the investigators.
Detective Senior Sergeant Cameron Blaine says to the youngster in the clip: "Cleo, my name's Cameron, how are you? Are you okay? We're going to take you to see your mommy and daddy, OK? Is that good?"
Cleo is seen nodding in response to the questions but does not appear to say anything to the detective.
Per The Guardian, the WA police minister, Paul Papalia, said of the four-year-old's rescue: "If you feel the need to thank God today, thank God for the West Australian police force.
"Cleo's rescue wasn't the result of an accidental sighting or a suspicious event, it was the result of hard police grind from the moment this incident began."
WA police commissioner, Chris Dawson added: "To find a little girl, a vulnerable little girl, after 18 days, you know, obviously people think the worst, but importantly, hope was never lost. The fact she’s been found alive … I think Australia is rejoicing, you know, it is such a wonderful outcome."
Authorities have confirmed that the male suspect in Cleo's alleged abduction had no connection to the four-year-old's family and only became a suspect the day before she was found.
Per The Independent, Australian prime minister Scott Morrison described the discovery of Cleo as "a huge relief".
He added: "The fact that that nightmare has come to an end and our worst fears were not realized, is just a huge relief and a moment for great joy."

A police officer has won hearts across America after formally adopting the four-year-old girl he helped to rescued from an abusive home.
Brian Zach, lieutenant of the Kingman Police Department and his wife Cierra, officially adopted Kaila this summer.
Zach was working as a patrol sergeant in March 2018 when he received a call asking him to check Kaila's residence, and in an interview with Good Morning America, he said that the pair bonded that night.
"We colored, we snacked... she held my hand and she was just this cute little thing," Zach said. "Once detectives came, they picked her up and took her to the hospital."
This single dad adopted five siblings so that they wouldn't be separated:
[[jwplayerwidget||https://content.jwplatform.com/videos/kMwxvcuu-Q0L14jDU.mp4||kMwxvcuu]]
At the time, Kaila was being treated for physical injuries as a result of the abuse she endured, for which criminal charges were filed against her caretakers.
Zach explained that he and his wife decided to step in when child protection services were unable to find an immediate placement for Kaila.
"She came with a sippy cup, a bag of clothes that didn't fit her and that was it," Zach said.
"Within the second day she was calling my wife 'mom' or 'mommy,'" he added. "I was 'guy' for a week or two and then when she started preschool she learned who dad was."
[[facebookwidget||[[facebookwidget||https://www.facebook.com/ABC7/posts/10158015341162452]]]]
However, 30 months after she first came into the couple's care, at Mohave County Superior Court in Lake Havasu City, Kaila was officially adopted by the Zachs.
"We lived each week not knowing if she was going to go back to her biological parents, or how long we were going to keep her," Zach said "Our goal was to love and care for this little girl for as long as it happened."
According to Zach, Kaila enjoys preschool, animals, dancing, and engages in make-believe play when she goes on "cruise vacations" in her cardboard box.
Kingman Police Department's chief of police Rusty Cooper told the news outlet: "Lt. Brian Zach’s commitment to public safety is exemplified in his commitment and love for Kaila. Both Brian and his wife Cierra are amazing parents.
"They are committed to the service of others and a cause that is greater than themselves," Copper added. "We are proud of Brian and thankful that he and his family are part of the Kingman Police Department."
"She is so comical, she is so witty," Zach added. "She's just a character."
Zach is now encouraging other people who are considering adoption not to fear the process because it is "well worth it."
