A Californian dad has sparked controversy at a rodeo after grabbing a t-shirt thrown into the crowd from a woman before presenting it to his daughter.
Viewers were left divided by the video, with some praising his dedication to his daughter, but others criticizing his actions towards the other woman.
In the short video, real estate broker Marco Caracas can be seen nipping in ahead of a woman to snatch a t-shirt that was being thrown to her at the rodeo event.
Remind you of any recent news stories, maybe involving people from Philadelphia?
Then, he simply took the t-shirt to his waiting daughter before then returning to say something - presumably an apology - to the woman.
Marco’s wife Amelia then shared the video online with the caption: “Daddy will you catch me a shirt.”
In the end, and possibly in prediction of the backlash, Amelia also revealed that the young girl did eventually give up the shirt.
In the caption, she wrote: “This ended with our daughter giving the shirt to the lady but man, the great lengths this man will go for his girls.”
Of course, this is the internet, so there are very few people sitting on the fence about this one.
Many have suggested that his actions were wrong, claiming that he’s teaching his daughter the wrong lessons, or that he’s showing a lack of respect.
“Daddy teaching his kid the wrong lesson,” one person said.
“Dad out here showing his daughter how little he respects women. Weird flex,” wrote another.
However - of course - he does have those who have defended him too.
One other comment read: “Personally I see a man doing whatever to please his baby girl who cares what a stranger thinks.”
Another said: “People thinking the woman is entitled to a shirt being thrown into a crowd is wild.”
So, whatever you think, there’s a side to be on.
But, ultimately, if the shirt ended up with the woman who was about to catch it, and everyone ended up walking away without a major confrontation, is there anything more to this?
On the internet, the answer is almost always yes.
Of course, you might remember another story that this bears a few similarities to.
When Harrison Bader struck a home run for the Phillies, he probably didn't count on becoming the center of an online storm.
Definitely not for these reasons, anyway.
A woman in the crowd sparked online furore after harrying a parent and child into giving her the ball, regardless of any sort of decency.
In the end, there was no amicable solution to that particular dispute, and a huge internet-wide search ensued to learn the woman's identity.
As of yet, we still don't know - and that's maybe for the best.
This situation at the rodeo isn't quite that bad, but it definitely does have a few similar notes.
