Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika has broken her silence after he was shot dead at a Utah Valley event on Wednesday.

Kirk, 31, known for his right-wing political views, was shot in the neck by a gunman while he spoke on the university campus.

His death sparked widespread outrage and a manhunt for the person responsible.

Since then, Tyler Robinson has been arrested in connection with his killing and is now being held without bail in Utah.

Now, Kirk’s wife Erika – mother to his two children – has spoken about her own grief.

In her message, Erika vowed to continue Kirk’s work and confirmed that his scheduled tour of university campuses will continue as planned.

In a tearful speech, standing beside her husband’s chair, Erika spoke of Charlie Kirk’s love for US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and their children.

She vowed: "My husband's voice will remain."

Broadcasting on Turning Point USA’s YouTube channel, Kirk thanked the people who tried to save her husband’s life, adding: "Mr President, my husband loved you. And he knew that you loved him too.”

She then said: "But most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew that everyday."

Addressing ‘evil doers’, Mrs Kirk said: "You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife, the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.

"They should all know this: if you thought that my husband's mission was powerful before you have no idea, you have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country and this world."

Kirk went on to say that the ‘American Comeback’ tour that Kirk had planned across university campuses would continue, as will his podcast.

Charlie Kirk and Erika met in 2018

Mrs Kirk, 36, is a former Miss Arizona winner who married her husband in 2021 after meeting in 2018.

At the moment, she is completing studies for a Bible studies doctorate, has launched a ministry programme, and hosts her own podcast, called Midweek Rise Up.

She also acts, models, and has her own clothing line.

Her husband was a strong gun rights activist and a polarising figure at events he often hosted on university campuses.

President Trump has announced that he will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom after his death, describing Kirk as a ‘giant of his generation and a champion of liberty’.
