David Wilcock, a prominent figure in UFO research, was found dead after an apparent suicide on Monday (April 20).
A man, believed to be the 53-year-old author and YouTuber, was discovered at a home near Nederland, Colorado, after a 911 call reporting an "unknown problem" led authorities to the scene.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that cops arrived at the residence around 10:44AM to find the man gripping a weapon before he turned it on himself minutes later.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. A sweep of the home and surrounding property revealed no other individuals, and the official cause and manner of death remain under investigation by the police department.
Although the sheriff’s office has not formally identified Wilcock, Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna confirmed his death in a post on X on Tuesday night (April 21).
"We just learned of the tragic passing of David Wilcock," she wrote. "We are praying for his family and loved ones and the millions of lives he impacted."
Wilcock was best known for his work in the UFO disclosure movement and as a New York Times bestselling author of paranormal books like The Source Field Investigations, The Synchronicity Key, and The Ascension Mysteries.
He also built an online following, with over 512K YouTube subscribers and more than 61K Instagram followers.
The late man had long been a vocal advocate for government transparency regarding UFOs and extraterrestrial life.
In the wake of the researcher's tragic death, a chilling post from December 2022 has resurfaced.
"I plan on LIVING. Not suicidal at all. Just concerned about what happens when you prove God is real," Wilcock wrote at the time.
This post has been widely shared after the news of his death and has sparked conspiracy theories online.
"Chilling," one user reacted, while another said: "What the heck is going on !!!"
Just days before his death, Wilcock posted a message on X: "My Dear Family, I am not yet sure if I am doing a show tomorrow," he wrote on Saturday (April 19).
"I’ve had some very intense stuff going on this weekend. Either way, I want you all to know how much I love and appreciate you! Always remember that the Creator is within - and we live in a loving universe. I am very grateful to you for all of your love, care and support," he added.
This post was seen as an expression of the stress Wilcock was experiencing, although it did not indicate suicidal intent.
Just one day later, he appeared on a livestream, his final public appearance, where he expressed deep appreciation for being alive.
"Every day that I have on earth is a gift and a blessing, and I’m very grateful for that," he said, per a report. "Because frankly, people are disappearing. Scientists are going missing... It’s a little bit scary."
