A TikTok star and her father have been arrested in connection to an alleged plot for the murder of her ex and father of her daughter.

According to reports from TMZ, TikToker Gabbie Gonzalez, 24, was arrested on May 18 by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office before being transferred to Los Angeles County custody and booked on a felony charge relating to an alleged murder-for-hire plot against former Why Don't We singer Jack Avery.

According to court records, Gonzalez is currently being held without bail and was arraigned on Tuesday, May 19, in a Los Angeles County Superior Court.

She is being held on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder, and her father Francisco Gonzalez was also arrested Monday in Florida in connection to the same case, according to TMZ.

According to law enforcement sources, the alleged plot is reportedly related to a custody battle between Gonzalez and Avery over their seven-year-old daughter, Lavender.

As reported by TMZ, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says Francisco allegedly became heavily involved in the dispute, with one witness reportedly telling investigators "it would be cheaper if Jack were dead."

According to the outlet, authorities believe that the alleged plan dates back to 2021, including alleged surveillance of Avery while he was living in Hawaii.

Investigators claim that members of the Gonzalez family attempted to get videos and photographs of the singer smoking or drinking in an attempt to use them against him in the custody battle.

Francisco allegedly wrote in communication cited in the report: "Call Barca … never too early,” believed to be in reference to Dustin Barca.

Authorities also claimed Gonzalez and her friend Kai Cordrey later attempted to recruit Barca to threaten Avery.

The outlet reports that a witness told investigators that the Gonzalez' sent Cordrey $10,000 electronically in April 2021 under the guise of “web-development payments”. Cordrey allegedly later told investigators that the reason was fabricated and that he had not performed web services for the family.

According to the outlet, Cordrey provided information which led to a federal agent posing as a hitman on a phone call with Francisco, in which investigators allege they discussed payments and the intended target.

Avery has filed for a court-ordered protection of their daughter in the wake of Gonzalez's arrest, per court documents obtained by The California Post.

In the filings, which were submitted on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Avery has requested a domestic violence restraining order against Gonzalez and for “sole legal and sole physical custody” of their daughter, while requesting for the court to ban Gonzalez from visitation pending further proceedings.

The filing cites that the emergency request was prompted by Gonzalez's arrest, as well as ongoing harassment and safety concerns.

The New York Post reports that the filing states: "The acts of abuse described in the attached declaration have taken place in front of the minor child.

"Gabriela attempted to kill me by hiring a hit man. Gabriela is not stable and not able to act in the best interest of our daughter."

He also claimed their daughter had been placed temporarily with a foster family in Northern California after Gonzalez's arrest, until he was able to travel to pick her up.

Avery added that the situation allegedly caused him "fear of death, chronic anxiety, depression, [and] post-traumatic stress disorder."

The reported investigation has allegedly been ongoing for several years, with Avery saying in a September interview that FBI agents had allegedly arrived at his home to warn him someone was allegedly attempting to have him killed, though he did not publicly identify Gonzalez and praised her parenting at the time.

An 11-year-old girl was tragically found dead under the bed by her father after she had messaged to warn him that there was a stranger at their door.

The grieving father, 32-year-old Carmelo Gonzalez, told Fox 26 that he had just arrived at work at around 10AM on Saturday when his daughter Maria had sent him a text to say someone was knocking at their door at their home in Pasadena, Texas.

He said: "'I told her, 'Don’t open the door because I am arriving at work,' and she responded, 'I am in my bed.'"

Gonzalez sent relatives who lived in the same building to go and check on her but they didn't find her despite a "cursory check" before he returned home around 3PM.

Pasadena Police Chief Josh Bruegger said during a press conference that Gonzalez had asked the aunt and uncle "to go check on [her] because he hadn’t heard from her," the New York Times reported.

The aunt and uncle arrived to find the door open but "were unable to locate her" after doing "a cursory check" of the property, Bruegger said.

Tragically, when Gonzalez returned home at around 3PM - approximately five hours after Maria had messaged about someone being at their door - he found her lifeless body had been put in a laundry basket under his bed.

He told the local outlet: "They left her under the bed in a plastic bag. They left my poor daughter."

Maria was described as a "good, quiet girl" and had only recently turned 11 years old.

Fox 26 reports that the Pasadena medical examiner confirmed that Maria had been raped and strangled, before her body was hidden under the bed in her own home.

Bruegger revealed that investigators currently do not have any suspects for what he described as a "violent, violent crime", but said some people had volunteered their DNA to rule themselves out.

He added: "At this point, the father’s alibi checks out, so he is - at this point, at least - not a suspect."

There were no signs of forced entry at the home but the door was closed but not locked when Maria's aunt and uncle arrived to check on her.

The area near the apartment does have security cameras but Bruegger suggested they may not have been recording at the time of Maria's death due to recent storms in the area.

Bruegger believes that the killer likely knew Maria would be home alone at the time, adding: "It seems awfully suspicious that Dad leaves for work and within 30 minutes you’ve got somebody knocking at the door."

Gonzalez and his daughter had lived alone in the apartment, and Maria's mother is believed to be in Guatemala, with the family's legal status in the US unknown.

"I do not know their legal status," Bruegger confirmed, stressing: "It’s the least of our concerns at this point."

On Wednesday, August 22nd, a father-of-four was arrested in a courtroom after leaping over barriers in order to punch a pedophile who had abused two of his daughters.

Kevin Smith, a 45-year-old US navy veteran, has been held on misdemeanour charges of obstructing governmental or judicial administration, fourth-degree assault and disorderly conduct following the attack on 40-year-old Donald Biggs, a youth pastor.

Biggs had admitted to charges of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity back in February, and was previously found to have been in possession of secret camera recordings of approximately 36 teenage victims. His crimes only became apparent after it was discovered that he had sent inappropriate texts to a 14-year-old girl.

A GoFundMe has been set up by Jacob Elkin, a friend of Smith's, and a description on the page gives more details on exactly what happened earlier this week:

"[On] Wednesday August 22nd at 11 am there was a final sentencing for Donny Biggs, an ex youth pastor that has been convicted for only one of several counts of child pornography.

"This man used his power and took advantage of middle school and high school aged girls by hiding video cameras and filming them using the restroom or taking showers. Several girls have been hurting for almost 4 years as Donny has continued to push this out (changing lawyers, and anything he could to stay in county not prison.) 

"Long story short: Kevin (father of two of the victims) did what every person in that room wanted to. He flew like the man of steel himself and punched Donny square in the face and continued to beat him until police pulled the two apart.

"In all seriousness, Kevin has brought a little piece justice and helped all these victims feel better. I am starting this go fund me to cover any charges he may face and just a good ol thanks for being a hero! Please donate to this great man!"

"I just wanted to set something up to kind of relieve some of the tension from it and really get something going for him so that they can hopefully pay all this off," Elkin said.

He continued:

"And of course you know, never really a proponent for violence but I felt like in this situation it brought a little bit of relief to all those girls who’ve been in this situation for years. For those who have had a hard time with that, I felt like it was a little piece of justice today as harsh as that may sound. It felt good."

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe has surpassed its $5,000 goal and is currently at $6,615 - enough to help with Smith's bail costs.

Meanwhile, the disgraced youth pastor faces up to 16 years behind bars for his crimes - and that's not including the pornography charges and other transportation charges, which were dropped as part of a plea deal.

A 15-year-old TikTok star had a run-in with the dark side of fame when her father shot dead an armed stalker who invaded their house.

Ava Majury - who has over a million followers on the social media platform - spoke about the scary experience in an interview with The New York Times.

When she started sharing clips of herself dancing on TikTok over lockdown, Ava began to interact with one of her followers, 18-year-old Eric Rohan Justin.

As Justin's obsession grew, he moved on from commenting on her posts to sending her Snapchat and Instagram messages, and even joining online video games where she was playing with her brothers.

When he began asking her to send him "booty pics" and photos of her feet, Ava said enough was enough and blocked him from all her accounts. He responded by pleading with her and even sending her $500 to try to regain access to her content.

At this point, Ava's dad got involved, sending Justin a message in which he demanded that the teen stop harassing his underage daughter.

But Justin was not deterred, and on July 10 2020 he showed up at Ava's house, broke in, and blew a hole in her bedroom door with a shotgun.

"All I remember was, I heard it, I felt it in my chest, and I looked up, and there was a hole in my door from the fragments," Ava told The New York Times.

She went on to relay how she fled into her brother's bedroom while her father chased Justin out of the house. The family called 911, but before police could arrive Justin returned wielding his gun - and Ava's father shot him dead.

When police searched Justine's body they found two phones, each with thousands of photos of Ava saved on them.

Meanwhile, despite the danger his online presence has posed to her family, Ava continues to post on TikTok - a decision her parents support.

"We chose what’s best for our family. We know there are going to be two sides, and some people won’t understand," said her mother.

"I think we just had to allow her to make a decision and sort of support her," her father agreed, adding: "I think it’s going to help her heal. It sounds corny, but I don’t know what else you would do it for."

A father has shared a troubling response after his daughter was charged with posing as a teenager to molest young boys.

Alyssa Zinger was arrested in 2023 after allegedly posing as a 14-year-old on social media and having sexual encounters with a boy between the ages of 12 and 15.

“It is disturbing and unsettling to see an adult take advantage of a child and prey on them,” police Chief Lee Bercaw said in a press release, per PEOPLE.

“Anyone who may have been a victim of Zinger’s, we encourage you to come forward. The Tampa Police Department will support you and ensure a predator like Zinger doesn’t cause you or others additional harm," Bercaw added.

Zinger's Father Speaks Out

Josh Zinger, the father of the imprisoned woman, spoke to The New York Post about his daughter's charges and strangely claimed that she is the real victim.

He revealed that Zinger grew up in a “good Christian home” in Tampa and throughout her life was charged with many mental disorders, such as ADHD, ADD, OCD, as well as Tourette’s syndrome, and anorexia.

“She had a lot of problems growing up. Our daughter has been to 10 to 12 psychologists and psychiatrists throughout her life,” the 55-year-old dad said, sharing that his daughter once got a 72 on an intelligence quotient test.

“She’s defective - mentally defective. And do you know what that means under the law? If somebody is mentally defective and has sex with somebody, no matter their age, it’s illegal to have sex with a mentally defective person,” he said, before bizarrely adding: “In all actuality, she is the victim.”

Josh Claims His Daughter Was "Seduced" By A Boy

The distraught father has alleged that the underage boy was the one who seduced his daughter and even took her virginity.

“That boy found her [social media] account, found her dancing like a 13-year-old on it and said, ‘Hey, girl, I’ll Uber you to my $5,000-a-month apartment - come on and hang out,’" he claimed “And then when she got there, she never said she wasn’t 14 to him, but he knew her real age, and he knew she was mentally unstable."

According to him, the unnamed boy “hid” Zinger in his family's house for five months, and introduced her to his friends, four of whom would become additional alleged victims in the state’s case against her.

“They all were like, ‘Hey, this girl is 14,’ wink, wink, high-five, high-five, ‘Your turn, bud,’” Josh said, adding that “this all will be proven in court."

“There will be no plea deal, there will be no sex offender registry, she’ll get time served and adios,” the father continued. “When we go to court, we’re going to chem ‘em all up, flip this around."

Zinger remains in jail on charges of lewd or lascivious battery, lewd or lascivious molestation, possession of child pornography, in-state transmission of child pornography by an electronic device, and sexual cyber harassment, all felonies.

Her trial is scheduled to begin on May 26.
