The death certificate of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was found in singer D4vd's Tesla, has been released.
Hernandez's body was discovered on September 8, 2025, in the front trunk area of a Tesla registered to the 20-year-old musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.
The vehicle had been parked for several weeks before being towed from a location in the Hollywood Hills, leading investigators to believe the teen may have been deceased for some time before her body was found.
The teen's death certificate, obtained by TMZ, states that the cause of death remains undetermined and is still pending as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and the LAPD continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
In addition to this, the certificate notes that Hernandez was neither pregnant nor had been pregnant in the last year.
D4vd has not been named as a suspect or charged in the case, led by the Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide division.
“It is very likely Celeste Rivas Hernandez had been dead for several weeks prior to her body being discovered,” Captain Scot M. Williams of the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division told PEOPLE.
“We know for sure that Celeste Rivas Hernandez died, and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of David Burke's Tesla," he added.
Search of D4vd's Hollywood Hills Property
The LAPD searched D4vd’s Hollywood Hills residence on September 17, 2025, and recovered several items of evidence.
Reports indicated that the police were specifically looking for "blood evidence" at the property, per NewsNation.
After the search, Burke and his manager reportedly vacated the home, with images showing large boxes being removed from the property.
The home was reportedly leased by Burke's manager, and the owner of the $5 million property expressed surprise at the situation, saying they did not know the 'Romantic Homicide' singer was residing there.
“I did not know D4vd, nor was I aware that he was living in the house...the news came as a complete surprise," they said, per SFGate.
Speculation About Celeste’s Relationship with D4vd
While there is no confirmation yet about the nature of the relationship between the teen and D4vd, social media users have speculated about a potential connection between the two.
Photos and videos purportedly showing the pair together have circulated online, sparking further curiosity.
A tattoo shared by both Hernandez and D4vd has also caught attention. The young girl had a tattoo on her right index finger that read “Shhh…” - a design that the 'Here With Me' artist also reportedly has.
Family's Heartbreak and Community Support
Hernandez's family has been left devastated by her death. In an emotional statement, her brother Matthew Rivas described the overwhelming grief the family is experiencing.
“I’m just trying to stay positive. I’m just trying to move forward,” he said, per NBC News. “My mom’s grieving really bad. My dad’s grieving really bad.”
The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for their loved one's funeral, which has garnered over $24,000 in donations.
As the investigation continues, D4vd’s music career has been put on hold. The 'One More Dance' singer, who was in the midst of his Withered world tour when the teen's body was discovered, canceled the remaining U.S. tour dates as well as upcoming European and U.K. legs.
Additionally, his planned appearance at the Grammy Museum was also called off, and his record label, Interscope, has suspended promotional activities surrounding the artist in light of the ongoing investigation.
This decision was made “out of respect for the seriousness of the probe,” according to TMZ.
