The Debate Commission has announced that it will mute the mics during the final presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
According to a report by Forbes, the Commission has said that during the final debate, the only candidate whose microphone will be live for a two-minute at the beginning of each segment will be the one who has the floor, in the hope that this will prevent any interruptions mid-flow.

According to an official statement that has since been released on Twitter, the Commission said that:
"Under the agreed-upon debate rules, each candidate is to have two minutes of uninterrupted time to make remarks at the beginning of each 15-minute segment of the debate. These remarks are to be followed by a period of open discussion.
"Both campaigns this week again reaffirmed their agreement to the two-minute, uninterrupted rule."

The statement continued:
"The Commission is announcing today that in order to enforce this agreed upon rule, the only candidate whose microphone will be open during these two-minute periods is the candidate who has the floor under the rules.
"For the balance of each segment, which by design is intended to be dedicated to open discussion, both candidates' microphones will be open.
"During the times dedicated for open discussion, it is the hope of the Commission that the candidates will be respectful of each other's time, which will advance civil discourse for the benefit of the viewing public."
Per CNN, Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh claims that the amendment to the rules is an attempt to stifle the Republican leader's rhetoric and an "attempt to provide an advantage to their favored candidate."
The first debate between Trump and Biden has since become infamous for its verbal interruptions, with Trump, Biden, and moderator Chris Wallace all talking over each other at different points during the live event.
At one point, the discussion became so chaotic that a frustrated Biden snapped at Trump "Would you shut up, man?" while trying to get through a question regarding his support of the ending the Senate filibuster.
