President Donald Trump has brutally mocked Joe Biden with a bizarre portrait on the new White House Presidential Walk of Fame.
The colonnade display outside the West Wing features black-and-white portraits of past presidents, such as Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, in gold frames.
But instead of a headshot of Biden, there's something quite different.
Joe Biden's portrait isn't the same as everyone else's
Instead of a picture of the former President, visitors will find a photograph of an autopen signing his name - a dig at Trump’s frequent allegation that his predecessor was not making decisions himself by the end of his presidency.
According to CNN, the 79-year-old had hinted at this snub weeks earlier, revealing: “We’ll put up a picture of the autopen.”
Trump’s fixation on Biden’s autopen
The unusual tribute reflects Trump's fixation with Biden’s use of the mechanical signature device.
He has repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that White House officials forged the 82-year-old's signature to enact policy decisions.
In June, Trump even ordered a formal investigation into whether “certain individuals conspired to deceive the public about Biden’s mental state and unconstitutionally exercise the authorities and responsibilities of the President".
The memo called for a review of every document the 46th president signed with the autopen, including clemency grants, executive orders, and memoranda.
Biden dismissed the accusations in the memo, saying in a statement: “Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency.
"I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations.
"Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.”
White House staffer leans into the trolling
On Wednesday (September 24), Trump's communications adviser Margo Martin shared social media posts celebrating the completed project.
“The Presidential Walk of Fame has arrived on the West Wing Colonnade,” Martin wrote on X, sharing a video of the portraits.
Chris Meagher, a former deputy press secretary for Biden, mocked the redecoration online, posting: “Continually impressed at how laser-focused the White House continues to be on Trump’s Day One promise to lower prices and all the steps they’re taking to make life easier for families struggling to get by.”
The reveal follows a string of cosmetic changes Trump has made to the White House since returning to office.
He has added gold flourishes on Oval Office walls, new flagpoles on the lawns, marble and stone replacing the Rose Garden grass, and construction on a massive new ballroom.
In addition to this, Trump has rebranded the White House Rose Garden as the Rose Garden Club.
