University of Georgia student Lily Stewart — now better known online as “Miss America” or “mugshot shawty” — has been arrested for the second time this month, and her explanation for fleeing from cops is now going as viral as her mugshots.

The 20-year-old Alpha Chi Omega sorority member first made headlines after her smiling mugshot, taken after a March 8 speeding arrest, launched her into online fame.
But less than two weeks later, Stewart found herself back in cuffs — this time on charges of obstructing a law enforcement officer and loitering/prowling.
According to records from the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, Stewart was arrested around 5:26AM on Sunday, March 23, and later released shortly before 11:00AM after posting a $4,600 bond.
Campus officers responded to an intrusion alarm near the University of Georgia's football stadium around 3:00AM.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Stewart was one of four students found at the scene. While the others were quickly detained, Stewart reportedly fled and hid behind a brick wall.

When officers found her, she reportedly told them: “I didn’t want to get caught doing anything bad because I am out on bond right now.”
She added: "Was it the trespassing? Truly that was actually my fault.”
The report noted there was no indication Stewart had been drinking, and another member of the group claimed they were simply trying to get back to their sorority house.
Despite the charges, Stewart didn’t stay in custody long — and her second mugshot, like the first, showed her smiling for the camera, this time wearing standard jail garb.
Her attorney, Stephen Morris, declined to comment on the new charges, but did confirm to the New York Post that her earlier speeding case has been dismissed.
That original arrest took place on March 8, when Stewart was clocked “hitting 85 [mph] in the 55” zone while driving to a friend’s birthday party in Milledgeville, Georgia.
“I didn’t know you could get arrested for speeding, but when he put those handcuffs on, I just shut up,” Stewart told TMZ. “I was like, ‘I’ll just go to the jail with you. I’ll figure it out,’ because I was scared.”
After posting a $440 bond that time, her viral mugshot — with full glam, blowout hair, and pearl earrings — spread across the internet, sparking thousands of reactions.
“That smile says my daddy is an attorney,” one commenter joked, while another quipped, “She was tryin to get the last pumpkin latte of the season.”
Other fans guessed she was “just trying to get to brunch for bottomless mimosas” or racing to a Lululemon sale.
However, online reactions to her second arrest haven’t been quite as charitable. “Getting booked and a good photo may be worth more than a degree,” one X user wrote. Another added, “Send her to prison for a bit and her attitude will change.”
One critic tweeted: “Gets arrested twice, and then smiles about it. What a great way to represent Alpha Chi Omega.”
In a previous interview with PEOPLE, Stewart addressed the social media storm, saying: “I think it’s hilarious. I don’t know what all the hype is about. I just took a mugshot and went on with my day.”
“I look like a basic white girl, and I am,” she said, adding, “One of them was like, ‘We know she has a monogram rain jacket’—which I do.”
“There are some beautiful mug shots. I don’t think mine’s particularly stunning,” she continued. “I actually think it’s a bad photo of me. If you see me in person, I don’t really look the same as I do in that mug shot.”
Despite the glamor shot reputation, Morgan County Sheriff Tyler Hooks, who processed Stewart after her first arrest, didn’t find the situation amusing.
“She’s acting like the laws don’t apply to her,” Hooks told PEOPLE. “We should never glorify this type of behavior… I hope she doesn’t get the attention like she did last time.”
Stewart previously said her lawyer “got it taken care of” and that she had enrolled in a defensive driving course, committed to 20 hours of community service, and was writing a paper on the dangers of speeding.
As for her second arrest, the full story behind what led her and her friends to the stadium at 3:00AM is still unclear — but for now, Stewart’s status as a social media sensation with a knack for photogenic mugshots seems secure.
