The husband of a Minnesota woman who has been convicted of sexually assaulting a pair of teenage hockey players during a family staycation has shared why they are still together.
Allison Schardin met two 15-year-old hockey players in a hotel hot tub, before making a number of sexual advances on the young athletes.
But years on from her sick actions, Anthony has revealed that they are still married and are choosing to remain out of the public eye after she was placed on the sex offender registry.
The Daily Mail reported that Allison, 40, had sex with the teens while a third watched in January 2024.
She was sentenced to two weekends behind bars, community service and five years of probation during her sentence in January 2025, as she pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The publication asked Anthony if the couple were still together in a new interview, to which he calmly answered: "Yes."
Anthony, 52, added: “We’re trying to stay under the radar about all that,” referencing her sexual assault charges.
Prosecutors explained that the mother-of-two from Blaine was at a hotel in Roseville with her husband and kids on January 14, 2024.
Here, she met the teenage athletes in a hot tub, who were traveling from Colorado with their team.
A complaint obtained by Law & Crime revealed that they started talking while soaking, with the mom speaking about her marriage problems, before exchanging contact information with the teens.
Her husband had yelled at her: “If you don’t come upstairs, our relationship is over,” according to the complaint.
Before long, she asked if she could go to one of the teen's rooms, after getting into a spat with her husband.
Despite telling the boys that they were young enough to be her children, she proceeded to pressure them into sex acts as a third boy watched, the complaint details.
According to one of the victims, Allison said: “You already have a 38-year-old woman, a female in your bed, don’t you want to do more.”
They told police they did not know how to “say no.”
The teacher then reportedly tracked the boys to a rink where they were playing the next day, in actions that were described as "really creepy," leaving the hockey players feeling "nervous".
Allison then continued to text the boys when they went home, begging them not to tell police about what happened, apologizing for what she did.
She would later admit to her sick crimes when speaking to investigators.
Court records reveal that husband Anthony actually filed for divorce in December 2023, four weeks before his wife sexually assaulted the 15-year-olds.
The couple then petitioned to have the case's status changed to inactive in April 2024, six weeks after Allison was arrested.
The case would be dismissed a year later.

A husband has ended his relationship with his wife, who was a former nurse, after she was put behind bars for sexually abusing his 15-year-old stepson.
On July 26, 2024, David Yates, who was previously called Frank, walked in on his 34-year-old wife, Alexis Von Yates, engaging in sexual activity with his teen son while they watched a horror movie.
The arrest affidavit states the 15-year-old told police that his step-mom said she was sexually frustrated because “she had not had sex in two weeks and she was on her period”.
They then started making out, which was when the older woman allegedly told the boy: “I wish you were 18, because you’re not old enough," before having sexual contact with him.
The father, who is a lineman, had been working the night shift when he came home and found his wife and son on the couch, completely naked.
It has been alleged that he started throwing objects before calling his wife a "c***” and accusing her of being a “child predator”.
She then reportedly told David that his son, who is three years below the legal age of consent in Florida, reminded her of him when he was younger.
She also alleged that the child victim didn't want to stop after the two began kissing and engaging in oral sex. However, the teen disputed this, telling his father that she was moaning to him and telling him to keep going.
On November 6, 2024, Von Yates was arrested before losing her single state nursing license shortly afterward.
Last month, the woman appeared at Florida Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Timothy McCourt, where she was sentenced to two years in prison.
She was originally charged with sexual battery by a person in familial authority, but the plea deal reduced the charge to lewd and lascivious battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 16.
According to the Daily Mail, a remand report filed just 6 days after Von Yates was sentenced revealed that she had separated from her husband.
Von Yates allegedly told corrections officers that the two had recently split, ticking the “sep” option under “marital status” on the prison form.
While it has not been disclosed when the couple went their separate ways, it is the first time she has declared the change to her relationship.
The teen's biological mom attended the sentencing hearing and slammed Von Yates as an “incestuous pedophile” who groomed her son.
She also described the former health professional as a “coward” who had no guilt for her “despicable actions".
The boy’s mother also said her son had been violated by those who should’ve protected him, revealing the teen hasn’t spoken to his dad since the incident.
"I will be by his side to support him, just as I always have. But it is not fair that I am the only one left to pick up the pieces of the mess Alexis created," the mom shared. "I am angry, I am hurt, at times it makes me physically ill. But I, like [my son], will rise above."
"Despite all of the trauma inflicted upon him, he still has a beautiful life to look forward to. A life full of love, hope, and endless possibilities," she added. "As for you, Alexis, you have shown absolutely no remorse or accountability for your despicable actions."
The mom claimed that the ex-nurse bragged about her light two-year sentence. "But there is something you will never escape, the deep well emptiness inside of you. The lack of compassion, or love, or care," she continued.
"You systemically manipulated, groomed, and sexually abused a child. Through your actions, and through your conduct, since you have proven to be a coward."
"There is nowhere you can go to escape the truth. For the rest of your life, the world will see you for exactly what you are," she said.
Von Yates was ordered not to have any contact with the victim before she was taken out of the courtroom.
As well as the prison sentence, she will have to complete two years of community control and 10 years of probation as a registered sex offender, per the New York Post.

The husband of a US teacher who was found guilty of having sexual relations with a school boy, has decided to stay with his wife.
McKenna Kindred made headlines for all the wrong reasons after being arrested in April 2023 on charges of first-degree sexual misconduct and inappropriate communication with a minor.
She would plead guilty to both charges, as McKenna, 27, admitted to sneaking the boy into the apartment, which she shared with her husband in Spokane, Washington.
The teacher was not handed jail time, but was made to register as a sex offender for ten years, as well as serving a year of probation and a two-year suspended sentence.
When the public discovered that she was married, they were even more appalled by her actions, expecting the relationship to break down.
But this didn't happen.
Instead of leaving his wife, Kyle decided to stay with McKenna and continue living together as a married couple, despite her having a teenage boy in their bed, while he was out of town on hunting trips.
The relationship, which began with flirtatious online exchanges, escalated into a shocking sexual encounter at Kindred's home, leading to a criminal investigation and severe legal consequences for the teacher.
Court documents revealed that the couple were living in an apartment in Liberty Lake, outside Spokane, a 13-minute drive from her job at Central Valley High School.
But by the time of the teacher's sentencing, the home was listed as the property of Kyle's parents, in Mica, a village just south of Spokane.
The couple was staying at the $1 million property, but according to the Daily Mail, they have since moved to Idaho, where they bought a house together, costing $498,000 in June 2024.
The inappropriate relationship between McKenna Kindred and the unnamed student began in June 2022, when the teenager found McKenna's Instagram account, per the New York Post.
What started as harmless texts soon escalated into sexually explicit text messages, photos, and videos.
In one exchange, the teacher sent the teen a message reading: “I was sad when you had to leave my room… when other girls talk about you in my class I could feel myself getting mad."
Kindred, who was 25 at the time, also confessed to the student: “I really like being touched by you.”
The teenager reciprocated with a message that said: “I'm glad I can satisfy you,” to which Kindred allegedly responded by liking the message.
The boy went further, asking if she had used a sex toy while thinking about him.
In the most shocking message exchanged between the pair, Kindred confirmed, writing: “I did,” and even went on to joke about it with him, suggesting: “Hm next time I need to relearn Snapchat haha.”
As the explicit messages continued, Kindred and the student arranged for an in-person encounter.
This meeting took place in November 2022, when Kindred’s husband, lawyer Kyle Kindred, was away on a hunting trip, per the Daily Mail.
According to the teen’s testimony, he arrived at her home between 6:30 and 7:00PM on the evening of the encounter.
They began by watching a movie and kissing, before moving to Kindred's bedroom, where they continued until around 10:00PM.
The pair then "hung out" in the living room and later took a shower together before the teenager left around 11:30PM.
Despite the age difference, Washington state law allows for consensual sexual activity for individuals aged 16 or older.
But the law also prohibits authority figures, such as teachers, from engaging in sexual activity with students under 18.
The boy’s mother, Ashley Beckley, would play a key role in the investigation when she discovered explicit photos and videos exchanged between her son and his teacher.
According to reports, the images included Kindred sending the boy pictures of her breasts, along with texts discussing sex toys.

In a story that shocked many, McKenna Kindred, a former high school teacher from Spokane Valley, Washington, became the center of a scandal after admitting to a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
Despite the shocking nature of the affair, her husband, Kyle Kindred, has stood by her side.
Nearly two years later, the couple has relocated to a new state and remains married.
The events that led to McKenna Kindred’s criminal conviction began in 2022.
While her husband, Kyle, was away on hunting trips, McKenna engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a teenage student.
This relationship came to light after the 17-year-old student discovered McKenna's Instagram and initiated private communication, which eventually escalated into sexual encounters.
Prosecutors revealed that their affair began in June 2022 and continued into November when McKenna had sex with the student at her home, all while her husband was out of town.
The details of the affair surfaced when the teen’s friends shared explicit messages exchanged between McKenna and the student with school officials.
The messages painted a disturbing picture of the relationship, with McKenna expressing strong, inappropriate emotions towards the teen.
One message read, “I wanted you to be in my room,” and another stated, “When other girls talk about you in my class, I could feel myself getting mad.”
The investigation also uncovered explicit videos exchanged between the two.
While the affair was a betrayal that rocked McKenna's life and career, it’s Kyle Kindred’s reaction that has captivated the public’s attention.
Despite the overwhelming evidence and public humiliation, Kyle has stood by McKenna through it all. Even after her tearful confession in court, where she expressed deep remorse for her actions, Kyle chose not to divorce her.
“As a result of my actions, I’ve lost my career, valuable friendships, freedoms and have let down countless people who placed their trust in me,” McKenna sobbed in a court statement.
She pleaded guilty to the charges in March 2024 and, as a result, was sentenced to two years of probation, ordered to pay $700 in fines and fees, and required to register as a sex offender for ten years.
Despite the criminal revelations, Kyle’s support for McKenna never wavered.
The couple sold their $1 million home in rural Spokane and purchased a new home together in Kuna, Idaho, for $498,000 just months after McKenna’s court appearance, per the New York Post.
The four-bedroom, 2,636-square-foot home is located in a quiet suburban area close to Boise, where Kyle has settled into his new role as a real estate lawyer at Holland & Hart, a position he began in August 2024.
Since relocating to Idaho, Kyle has started a new chapter in both his personal and professional life.
According to his firm’s profile, Kyle is described as an “avid outdoorsman, fly fisherman, and college basketball fanatic.”
His new life seems to reflect a shift towards privacy and a more settled existence, away from the public spotlight that had surrounded McKenna’s criminal case.

A woman has recently gone viral after opening up about her friend being ghosted by her partner after spending eight years with them.
Taking to TikTok, user Emma Noyes, better known by her username @emmanoyesmaybe, posted a video recalling a dire situation her friend was in which involved being ghosted after a long-term committed relationship with a so-called "professional hockey player."
In the video, which has now been viewed a whopping 32 million times, Emma used the classic 'Put A Finger Down Challenge' to talk about what had happened.
Describing the man as the love of her friend's life, she said: "Put a finger down if you've ever been with a man for eight years and this man is the love of your life and he's also a professional hockey player..."
She continued: "And so one day he gets a professional contract to go and play hockey in Russia and it's for an insane amount of money so we can't turn it down because you're supportive so you say 'Babe go! Go to Russia. Play in Russia.'"
Emma then goes on to state that the man in question eventually does go to Russia and things are going super well for both his career and his relationship.
"...You guys are talking every day. You're talking about rings and weddings [because]... you've been together for eight years and he says 'I can't wait to see you at the end of February' when he comes home and finally the end of February rolls around and all of a sudden... He disappears."
That's right, he just vanished.
Emma then went on to recall that her friend started texting his family members including his parents who all seemed confused by the claims, saying that he was still responding to them as usual and that he had just gone on vacation.
So naturally the friend reaches out to him and asks: "What the f*** is going on?"
And he allegedly responded back with: "I'm sorry I'm not home yet, I will be home soon. This is not a good response or a drunk response. I will text you a good response tomorrow."
And that's apparently the last thing the friend ever heard from her boyfriend of eight years.
In the wake of the break-up - well, if it can even be considered an actual break-up - the friend tried reaching out to the athlete a few more times asking to talk, but it seems as though he was in no mood to respond.
He eventually went back to Russia, and that's when he hard-launched a whole new girlfriend on his social media account which the girls discovered he had been with for "quite some time."
And just to make things worse, the next photo that this man uploads is one of the woman with a ring on her hand.
Big, fat yikes.
Of course, social media users couldn't believe what they were hearing, with thousands taking to the comments to leave their opinions.
"LITERALLY GHOSTING AFTER AN 8 YEAR RELATIONSHIP IS THE MOST INSANE THING IVE EVER HEARD," wrote one user, while another added: "Eight years is the red flag."
A third asked for his personal information saying: "What’s his name? I just wanna talk to him."
This user also shared a similar thought: "Drop his name babe. You don’t treat other humans like this, it’s absolutely cruel behavior."
In a follow-up video, Emma revealed that she did not expect the video to blow up as it did but that she was thankful for the support given to both her and her friend during this incredibly difficult period.
She also expressed her intentions behind the original video stating that she was hoping the man in question would stumble across the video and be open to giving her friend some closure.
Let's hope it works!
