Moments before she was found dead alongside her husband, Oklahoma influencer Sara Gilson was heard "screaming and crying" by a 911 call handler.

Heartbreakingly, by the time emergency services arrived at the scene, it was too late, and she was found with fatal gunshot wounds alongside her estranged husband, Jeremiah "Shawn" Duffey.

Cops were alerted by a child who lived at the home and called 911 at 11.15 pm on Thursday, July 23.

In the dispatch audio obtained by People, a 911 call handler can be heard telling first responders: “I’m trying to reach him back, but I could hear a female in the background screaming and crying. Some sort of loud bang in the background.”

Just seconds later, the dispatcher mentioned a “male that we were looking for a few weeks ago after he got caught kissing a juvenile” and referred to “a gun.”

At approximately 11.18 pm dispatchers arrived at the home where they found Gilson, 43, and Duffey, 48, both dead with gunshot wounds. It has since been established that Gilson was shot by Duffey, who then turned the gun on himself too.

Gilson had outed her husband's crimes on social media

On social media, Gilson had recently accused Duffey of being a “pedophile”.

In the video, shared to her more than 50,000 followers on July 11, the influencer mimicked a current trend, in which users pretend to sit down for an interview with Netflix for a documentary.

In text laid over the video, she wrote: “Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon-to-be ex-husband who I just found out is a pedophile.”

Tragically, the video was captioned “I wish I was joking””.

Duffey had recently been accused of sexual relations with a minor when a woman filed for a protective order against him on behalf of her daughter, a 15-year-old girl who played on the basketball team he coached.

According to The Oklahoman, the child’s mother claimed that Duffey kissed and touched her and was caught by another coach.

Gilson found out about his inappropriate relationship

Allegedly, the girl also told her mother that Duffey was extremely inappropriate, sending her messages, inviting her to his hotel room during a tournament trip and offering her money “to keep her quiet.”

Gilson had, in the past, filed her own emergency protective orders against the reported sexual predator.

In 2021, she filed two orders against him, but they were dismissed because Gilson did not appear at the hearing.

Then, less than two weeks before the former couple was found dead, Gilson filed for another emergency protective order against Duffey on July 10. She claimed that he had a gun, threatened to kill himself, and “went on the run”.

Court records show that Duffey was immediately ordered out of their home and ordered to stay 100 yards away from Gilson.

Influencer Jamal Morton has hit back at online critics days after the tragic death of his two-year-old daughter, Rose.

As previously reported, the content creator said his child wandered into the backyard of the family's home in Hoschton on Sunday before entering the pool by herself.

The 33-year-old father of six announced the tragedy on Facebook, writing: "You were the best daughter a father could ever ask for. Losing a child is a pain I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

"I lost my daughter. I hope heaven is real because i can’t imagine you being all alone by yourself. So god if you’re real please watch over my baby. Rest in Peace my sweet angel. Daddy loves you forever Rose," he added.

The coroner's office confirmed Rose's death to The Daily Mail, though officials said her exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

Morton hits back at online critics

Days after sharing the heartbreaking news, Morton returned to Facebook with a blunt message aimed at people slamming him over his daughter's death.

"Stupid b****es talking sh** like I wasnt even home when my baby died so stop talking about what i let happen," he wrote. "Focus on your f***ed up life and let my family grieve in peace."

Just hours after the post, his management team issued a statement thanking supporters while urging people to stop spreading unverified information.

"On behalf of Jamal Morton and his family, we would like to thank everyone who has reached out with prayers, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.

"The Morton family is grieving a profound loss and respectfully asks for privacy and compassion as we navigate this moment together. While Jamal has shared much of his life publicly as a creator and influencer, it is important to remember that behind the content is a real family experiencing real pain."

The management said that there is "a significant amount of speculation and misinformation circulating online".

"We kindly ask the public and media to refrain from sharing unverified information. Any false or defamatory reporting may be addressed through the appropriate channels.

"When and if the family is ready to share additional information, it will come directly through official sources. Until then, we ask that everyone respect their space, honor the family's grieving process, and keep them in your thoughts and prayers," they added.

Creator steps away from social media

Morton told followers he would be taking a break from social media while he grieves.

Although videos have continued appearing on his accounts, his management team clarified that he is not the one posting them.

"We want to let everyone know that J'Amore's social media accounts are currently being managed by his team. At this time, he is not online, posting content, responding to messages, or actively managing his pages," the team said.

"Management is keeping his platforms running while he and his family take time to grieve the heartbreaking loss of their baby girl.

"This is an incredibly difficult time, and we ask for your understanding, prayers, and respect for their privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss," they added.

Another influencer has spoken about losing a child to drowning

Morton is one of several social media stars who have experienced the loss of a child in a pool drowning.

Earlier this year, influencer Emilie Kiser opened up about the death of her three-year-old son, Trigg, who died six days after falling into the family's backyard pool in Arizona in May 2025.

Speaking on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, she reflected on how quickly life can change.

"Losing a child really shows you in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change, and how quickly life can be literally taken away," she said.

She also explained how she continues to move forward for the sake of her younger son.

"I always try to remind myself that I have a choice to make," she continued. "I can either let this completely derail me more than it already has, and not really feel like I'm fit or able to take care of my younger son, or I can do everything in my power to be the best mom I possibly can for him, and give him the same love that Trigg had and has."

Airi Sato, a popular online personality, was broadcasting on the app WhoWatch while walking alone near JR Takadanobaba Station in Shinjuku Ward around 9:50AM when she was ambushed, Kyodo News reported.

As the attack unfolded, horrified bystanders heard Sato screaming for help. Viewers of her livestream also reacted in real time, with her feed suddenly cutting to black as sirens blared in the background. 

Concerned followers flooded the chat with frantic messages, asking, “Where did she go?” and “Someone help,” per The New York Times.

Police in Tokyo have arrested a 42-year-old man named Kenichi Takano in connection with the fatal attack on Sato.

Local reports suggest that Takano was able to track the influencer's location by analyzing the background of her livestream. Jiji Press reported that he had learned the day before that she would be in Tokyo, seemingly using that knowledge to confront her.

Shocking images of Sato, who had more than 2,600 followers, lying motionless on the ground after the attack quickly spread online.

When authorities arrived, they found the 22-year-old with multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, chest, and abdomen. She was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Police arrested Kenichi Takano at the scene. He was allegedly found standing next to the late influencer's body. Officers discovered two knives in his possession - a bloodied survival knife and another tucked inside his backpack.

Witnesses reported that Takano not only stabbed Sato but also struck her as she lay on the ground. Disturbingly, he appeared to take photos or record video of her after the attack.

Although he admitted to killing Sato, Takano insisted he didn’t mean to take her life. He was initially charged with attempted murder, though local outlets reported that authorities plan to upgrade the charge to murder.

Investigators believe the attack was premeditated rather than random. Reportedly, Takano has been following Sato since 2021 and started financially supporting her in 2022. He allegedly told police he had lent her around $13,500, which she never repaid.

Local reports also suggest there had been prior tensions between the two. Takano and Sato had reportedly consulted with police outside Tokyo at some point, though the details of those interactions remain unclear.

While Japan is known for its low crime rate, Sato’s killing is eerily similar to a previous case in which a 33-year-old female influencer was fatally stabbed by her 26-year-old ex-boyfriend. That attacker was sentenced to 17 years in prison.

A mother who fatally shot her husband and two children shared a disturbing social media post days before carrying out the killings.

Emily Long, 34, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the family’s Madbury home early Monday morning, per the New York Post.

Authorities say she killed her husband, Ryan Long, 48, and their two eldest children - Parker, 8, and Ryan, 6 - in an apparent murder-suicide.

Both children were shot once in the head, while Ryan, who was terminally ill, sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Their three-year-old child was discovered alive and unharmed in the house and is now in the care of relatives.

Investigators recovered a gun from the scene, but a clear motive remains unknown.

Assistant Attorney General Ben Agati told WCAX: “One of the biggest questions they have right now is motive, why? And I think that’s probably one of the more difficult things that they are trying to grasp to understand how this came to be.”

The tragedy comes against the backdrop of Ryan’s battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer.

Emily had documented her husband’s illness on social media, often reflecting on the toll it was taking on their family.

She described trying to create normalcy for her children even as they struggled to understand what was happening.

In one recent video, Emily admitted: “I am determined to create normalcy. I have been struggling so much and really depressed and just have really become reclusive, and just wanted to be with my kids and my husband. That being said, I’m making a change and it is starting today … And I’m making a point to get out of my depression and do this for my family.”

But her posts also hinted at deep despair.

As reported by the Sun, in a since-deleted TikTok, she told followers: “Today I decided I need to make a conscious effort to shift my mindset. I’m getting out of this depression whether I want to or not.”

In another clip, she confessed: “I know that I need to see a therapist, I know that I need to ask for help... but I’m not ready to acknowledge that, I think.”

She went on to describe feeling as though she was “withering” away. “I’m mourning my husband, I’m mourning my marriage and it’s still there. It’s very confusing and it’s very overwhelming.”

Emily worked as director of operations for the restaurant chain Wing-Itz.

Ryan, a school psychologist at Oyster River Middle School, was remembered by colleagues and neighbors as devoted to his students and his family.

Neighbors in the town of fewer than 2,000 people expressed shock at the devastating loss.

Bevy Ketel, who lived nearby, told WBZ-TV: “It was a perfect family as far as we knew. It was shocking. We didn’t see it coming.”

She recalled seeing the Long children recently selling lemonade near their home.

A woman who has been accused of driving her ex-boyfriend to suicide is alleged to have tried to "cover her tracks" by sharing heartfelt memorial posts about him after his death.

Kevin Metzger, 37, died by suicide in June 2021 and his former partner, Mandie Reusch, 35, is accused of sending him a slew of "heinous and graphic" messages leading to his death.

The former Army veteran is said to have written a letter which he posted on Facebook before taking his own life, in which he detailed the onslaught of abusive messages he had received from Reusch.

"Mr. Metzger may still be here today if those messages did not influence and encourage him to take his own life," District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli said in a statement.

Among the messages Reusch, who is facing charges of aiding suicide, is alleged to have sent, she reportedly threatened to keep the daughter she shared with Metzger from him, according to court documents obtained by Pennlive.com.

She had allegedly told him via messaging app WhatsApp that she and the child would be moving in with her new partner, before warning Metzger that he would never see his daughter again, and even allegedly sent him multiple texts encouraging him to take his own life, adding: "[The daughter] would be better off not even knowing you."

Reusch also messaged him her plans to have sex with her boyfriend on Mother's Day "while your daughter calls him daddy," the news outlet further detailed. On another occasion, Reusch sent a clip of herself having sex with another man after Metzger had sent her $200, with Reusch arguing that the amount wasn't enough.

The messages had been sent while Metzger was away completing military training while Reusch and their daughter remained at home.

She allegedly wrote: "From now on we are [new boyfriend’s surname] and you do not exist. [He] is her dad now. Not you. Don’t ever ask about her again. She isn’t your daughter. You’ll never hear about her again either. She will call [him] 'dad' because he’s a way better dad than you."

Reusch's new partner spoke to the Daily Mail anonymously, where he claimed that she "tried to cover her tracks" by posting gushing online tributes to Metzger after his death.

He told the outlet: "After he passed, she turned into a martyr and was posting all of these memorial pictures of him and saying how much she misses him and how good of a dad he was. I think just to kind of cover her tracks."

The man also claimed that he did not even know Reusch's daughter existed, and believed he was only in a "casual" relationship with her which was "never official".

He claimed he only learned of Metzger's existence when the veteran threatened him over text after Reush had sent him a video of her performing oral sex on her new boyfriend, adding: "She completely took advantage of me to make him jealous."

Reusch was investigated for two years before being arrested on Tuesday, and has been charged with aiding suicide - which is a felony - as well as harassment, which is a misdemeanor.
