Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert shocked reporters and viewers alike after asking a question about everyone's sexual libido.
While many are usually left stunned by comments made by President Donald Trump, it's easy to forget that officials ranking lower in the government are capable of doing the same.
The press was questioning the gun rights activist about what must be done to stop politicians from abusing their position of power and sexually harassing their staff, when she hit back with a simple bit of advice.
Reporters asked the question after two resignations made headlines recently in the House of Representatives, as sexual misconduct allegations were brought against former Congressmen Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales.
Both former officials left their posts this week, after allegations of having sexual relations with their staff members had ramped up.
The Congresswoman's response to reporters has gone viral online, as she shared her opinion on why so many politicians seem to be so aroused.
"Go to church. Find Jesus - Why is everybody so horny here?" the 39-year-old grandmother replied to the reporter.
But as some social media users saw the funny side of Boebert's response, others were quick to point out that she was being hypocritical, referencing a 2023 incident involving her handsy actions at a musical.
Boebert got into some trouble around three years ago, when surveillance footage showed her starting to get it on with a man during a musical production of 'Beetlejuice'.
The video revealed that while she was groping him, she too was being groped by the man.
It showed that the man had his hands on Boebert's chest, while she placed her hands between his legs, in video footage that remains shocking to this day.
She would eventually be kicked out of the Denver theater after she was seen vaping during the performance.
One user wrote: "Didn't you get caught j***ing a guy off during the Beetlejuice musical?"
Another joked: "'Rep. Boebert has a point. Take it to the theatre like a civilized person.
"Perhaps a showing of 'Beetlejuice', returning to Broadway at the National this summer."
Others pointed out her tight-fitting black dress, which she sported while being questioned.
A news editor named Matt Vespa added: "I do find it amusing that the woman kicked out of beetlejuice [because] she was … handsy with her date said this."
An X user said that it was the "Right message, wrong messenger."
The footage from 2023 reveals that the Congresswoman was wearing a low-cut gold dress with high heels at the musical, as she attended with a hot date.
A report detailed that the pair were given a warning at intermission about her behavior.
Five minutes into the second act though, security received a complaint about someone being loud and illegally recording the production.
Boebert took to social media at the time, claiming: "It's true, I did thoroughly enjoy the amazing Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre and I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!
"Everyone should go see it if you get the chance this week and please let me know how it ends!"
Boebert told the Daily Mail in a statement at the time: "Just giving advice as someone who knows, Jesus saves!"
