A lip reader has revealed the alleged "concerning comment" Donald Trump made to his son while attending a golf tournament this week.
The 79-year-old president was at the LIV Golf event at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, where he watched from behind bulletproof glass alongside Eric Trump.
According to professional lip reader Nicola Hickling, one private exchange between the pair appeared to offer a glimpse into Trump’s feelings about his upcoming birthday.
Hickling claimed Trump spoke candidly with Eric about turning 80 on June 14.
According to her, he said: "Yes, we were talking and he said, 'Dad, you know you're going to be 80 years old.' After he said this, I felt old," per The Mirror.
The president reportedly did not specify which of his sons had made the original comment.
Hickling also claimed the president then joked: "You're only as old as you feel, right?" while wagging his finger at the 42-year-old.
The same event also sparked a debate about Trump’s height.
Eric is reportedly just over 6ft 4in, while Trump is listed at around 6ft 3in.
But in footage from the event, the president appeared visibly shorter than his son and was occasionally seen looking upward while speaking to him.
"Eric Trump: 6' 4. Donald Trump: Definitely not 6' 3," one person wrote.
"Eric Trump is supposedly 2 inches taller than his father. Is he standing in a hole?" another joked.
Eric accompanied his father overseas during the president’s state visit to China.
He arrived in Beijing alongside his wife, Lara Trump, as part of the US entourage.
The 42-year-old currently oversees many of the Trump family’s investments, including ventures tied to real estate and golf, while also shifting focus toward cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
Lara, a former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, now hosts the Fox News program "My View with Lara Trump".
According to Reuters, the Trump Organization said the couple attended the China trip in a personal capacity.
"[Eric] does not have business ventures in China nor plans on doing business in China,” spokeswoman Kimberly Benza said, per SCMP.
"He will not be participating in private meetings, but will instead stand alongside the president to mark this historic occasion."
