Marjorie Taylor Greene has launched a fiery attack on the NFL for booking "demonic sexual" performer Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime show performer.
On September 28, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced that the 31-year-old musician will become the first Puerto Rican artist to headline the prestigious event.
The rapper, whose full name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, shared the news with excitement, telling fans: “What I'm feeling goes beyond myself. It's for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown.
"This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL. (Go and tell Grandma that we will be the HALFTIME SHOW of the Super Bowl)," he added.
But the announcement has ignited immediate backlash from conservative figures, including Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who called his booking “perverse” and “unwanted".

Greene slams the NFL
Reacting to a recent Saturday Night Live appearance in which Bad Bunny joked: “If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn [Spanish],” Greene used the moment to reignite her push for an English-only policy in the U.S.
“Bad Bunny says America has four months to learn Spanish before his perverse, unwanted performance at the Super Bowl halftime. It would be a good time to pass my bill to make English the official language of America,” she posted on X. "And the NFL needs to stop having demonic sexual performances during its halftime shows."
Her proposed bill, first introduced in March, would make English “the official language of the United States” and require naturalization applicants to “read and understand” key U.S. founding documents in English, per The Independent.

Trump's reaction
While the 'Tití Me Preguntó' musician speaks both English and Spanish, he is known for delivering his music primarily in Spanish and for being openly critical of President Donald Trump during his presidency.
Trump has shared his thoughts on the NFL's selection in a recent interview with Greg Kelly, saying: “I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy… I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
The 79-year-old's allies have echoed Greene’s outrage, with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem vowing that ICE will be present at the Super Bowl - an especially pointed move given Bad Bunny’s past comments about avoiding US tours due to ICE enforcement.
“They suck, and we’ll win, and God will bless us, and we’ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day, and they won’t be able to sleep at night, because they don’t know what they believe, and they’re so weak, we’ll fix it," Noem responded, per New York Times.
Noem’s comments echo those made by one of her chief advisers, Corey Lewandowski, who added: “There is nowhere you can provide a haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else. We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you.”
