Michael Dell fires back at trolls mocking wife Susan’s appearance at the White House
Michael Dell has spoken out publicly in support of his wife, Susan, after she faced online criticism over her appearance during the couple's recent visit to the White House.
The 61-year-old technology billionaire shared messages of support, defending Susan, after pictures and videos of their Washington appearance prompted scathing personal comments about her looks.
Michael Dell comes to the defense of his wife
Susan went viral last week after viewers spotted her unusual, robotic mannerisms. Then a before-and-after picture of her resurfaced, with many refusing to believe she was even the same person.
The couple had attended the White House to discuss their $6.25 billion commitment to children's investment accounts, but as footage from the event spread across social media, Michael was forced to jump to his wife’s defense, issuing support following cruel comments on Susan's appearance.
Michael took to social media to echo the sentiments of supporters, whose messages urged those ridiculing her to leave his wife alone, including parents and grandparents whose families had benefited from the couple's charitable pledge.
One person wrote: "My grandson got 250 dollars in his Trump account from Susan Dell. Please leave that woman alone."
Social media calls out cruel response
Conservative commentator Mike Cernovich also criticized the online discussion, writing on X: "The Dell family gave 7 billion dollars directly to American children. And instead of gratitude, there's much discussion of a 62 year old woman's looks."
Eric Trump also came to the couple's defence on X, condemning the comments and highlighting the scale of their philanthropic commitment.
Susan and Michael visited the Oval Office last Wednesday to discuss their contribution to Trump Accounts, having announced in December 2025 that their donation was designed to provide $250 to 25 million children through the initiative.
During the White House event, Michael revealed that 10 million accounts had already been funded, with the remaining contributions expected to be completed by the end of that week, before Susan discussed the letters the couple had received from children and their families, explaining how their messages had touched them.
In a number of social media posts, Michael shared letters of gratitude from some of the young recipients, each discussing their own ambitions for the future, as well as the professions they wished to follow.
The couple founded the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in 1999, with Susan serving as chair and helping oversee its work supporting education, healthcare and families, with Susan explaining on the foundation's official website: "We believe giving is the most important thing we will do in our lives."
