OJ Simpson's estate signs off on $58million claim from Ron Goldman's father, decades after he was killed alongside Nicole Brown Simpson

O.J. Simpson’s estate has approved a $58 million claim from Ron Goldman’s father.

On June 13, 1994, Ronald Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson were found brutally murdered outside her Brentwood condo - an event that would spark one of the most infamous trials in American history.

Now, nearly three decades later, Fred Goldman, Ron’s father, is one step closer to receiving the financial justice he’s been chasing ever since.

Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of O.J. Simpson’s estate, has signed off on Goldman’s creditor claim for $57,997,858.12 plus interest, TMZ reported.

The settlement follows drawn-out negotiations after Goldman initially filed for more than $117 million, accounting for the $33.5 million civil judgment from 1997 and the mountain of interest it has accrued over the years.

Simpson’s estate flips its stance on payment

LaVergne originally denied Goldman’s calculations and offered a lower figure. But after both sides went back and forth, Goldman agreed to a final amount that's about half of what he was seeking.

The executor now plans to pay as much of the approved claim as possible through the auction of Simpson’s remaining possessions.

But, not everything has gone smoothly, as LaVergne noted that some memorabilia had been stolen, and he’s currently working with attorneys to recover those items.

He’s also seeking court approval for administrative fees related to Goldman’s assistance in managing the estate.

Aside from Goldman’s, the estate has only accepted a claim from the IRS. California’s outstanding $636,945 claim may need to be settled in court, as LaVergne says the state would “have to file suit” to get in line.

This latest move is a dramatic reversal from the executor's earlier comments last year, when he vowed he would “never” pay the Goldman family.

That was shortly after Simpson died in 2024, without having paid the vast majority of the $33.5 million judgment handed down after he was found civilly liable for Ron and Nicole’s deaths in 1997.

The 1995 criminal trial had ended in Simpson’s acquittal, but a civil jury later awarded $8.5 million in compensatory damages to the Goldman family and $25 million in punitive damages split between the Goldmans and the Brown family.

The payments were barely touched during Simpson’s lifetime.

Kim Kardashian’s $15K offer wasn’t enough

While Goldman’s claim finally gained traction, Kim Kardashian had no such luck.

According to E! News, she tried, and failed, to buy a Bible once gifted by her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., to Simpson.

The item, featuring a personal handwritten message from Robert that read: “God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again,” was listed for auction after Simpson’s death.

The SKIMS mogul initially offered $15,000, hoping to give it to her sister Khloé as a birthday gift. “I would've negotiated,” she said during the Nov. 13 episode of The Kardashians. “I guess I had a little too much faith in humanity for a minute there.”

According to LaVergne, he couldn’t legally sell it privately, even to a Kardashian. “Why would I spend $15,000 of estate money - why would I spend $15,000 in attorney's fees - to sell it to Kim for $15,000?” he told People. “That’s a zero-sum game. That’s a bad business model.”

The Bible eventually sold at auction in March for $80,276 with fees. The winning bidder remains anonymous.
