Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenny has told Donald Trump to "put his big boy pants on" and congratulate Joe Biden.
The former Vice President surpassed the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the election after being declared victorious in Pennsylvania.
The Associated Press writes: "Democrat Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States on Saturday [November 7]."
The AP added: "His victory came after more than three days of uncertainty as election officials sorted through a surge of mail-in votes that delayed the processing of some ballots. Biden crossed 270 Electoral College votes with a win in Pennsylvania."
NBC and CNN have also declared Biden as the projected winner of the election.

Trump tweeted earlier today (Saturday, November 7), claiming that "bad things took place" that "totally and easily" changed Pennsylvania's results.

Kenny responded:
Take a look at the mayor's statement below:"I think what the president needs to do is frankly put his big boy pants on.
"He needs to acknowledge the fact that he lost and he needs to congratulate the winner just as Jimmy Carter did just as George H. W. Bush did and frankly just as Al Gore did.
"That’s my feeling. I doubt he’ll listen to me, but that's it."
As a result of Kenny's comments the phrase "Big Boy Pants" started trending on Twitter, with a number of social media users uploading humorous image macros mocking Trump's attitude:
Of course, as of this writing, no winner has yet to be officially determined as votes are still being counted - Joe Biden has simply been projected to win by media outlets.
However, Democrat candidate Joe Biden has urged his supporters to "keep the faith" and has denied any electoral wrongdoing on the part of the Democrat Party.
