Presley Gerber’s ex-girlfriend Charlotte D'Alessio has broken her silence following the model’s death at the age of just 27, which was announced on Monday.
Presley, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, died on September 20 at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, with the circumstances surrounding his death undetermined.
Tributes have poured in since his death, including from Charlotte, who dated Presley for around two years beginning in 2018.
The Canadian model, now 28, used Instagram to share several personal photographs from their relationship, including intimate snapshots of the pair together, before revealing that she is "very angry" as she mourns someone she once shared a "pure love" with.
Accompanying the images, Charlotte wrote: "Shared a pure love with you & for that I thank & honor your life. You deserved more time. You deserved more life. Very angry ab this."
She continued with a heartfelt message: "Love you Pres. always. Up there, down here. don't ever doubt that. we all love you so much. I hope you can feel it."
Charlotte also shared a video of Presley playing with a dog, adding the simple caption: "I will always remember you this way."
While tributes continue to emerge, authorities have yet to establish publicly what caused Presley's death, with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner saying an examination had taken place but that the cause and manner of death had been deferred while further testing and studies are carried out.
The department said "limited information is currently available" while the investigation remains ongoing.
In its statement, it said: "The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner (DME) is in the early stages of investigating the death of 27-year-old model Presley Gerber and limited information is currently available.
"A deputy medical examiner performed an examination today and the cause and manner of death have been deferred, which means additional testing and/or studies were requested in order to make a determination.
“Due to the ongoing death investigation, the DME cannot disclose what testing and/or studies were requested. Deferred cases can take a few months before a cause of death is determined.
"Mr. Gerber was pronounced dead at 09:45 hours on September 20, 2026, by responding paramedics. The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency."
Before his death, Presley had spoken publicly about his experiences with mental health difficulties and addiction, frequently taking to Instagram to discuss and spread awareness of both topics.
His family has since asked for privacy as they come to terms with the loss, with a representative for Cindy confirming the news.
