US government releases secret report detailing chilling encounters with 'Skinwalkers'
The US government has released a chilling report into so-called ‘Skinwalkers’ that many believe to exist in Utah.
So much so that one ranch has even earned the name ‘Skinwalker Ranch’.
Skinwalkers are believed to be roaming in Utah
The Pentagon has recently released a new tranche of UFO/UAP research files, and Donald Trump has promised that the releases will continue.
One document that has come out into the public domain is a 60-page file entitled Utah Ranch Investigation.
The document includes a number of chilling encounters that people claim to have had with alleged Skinwalkers in the area surrounding the aforementioned ranch.
The reports came alongside multiple reports of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) and mysterious lights.
It all took place in March/April 2010, when Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) turned up on a private contract from the government to try to get to the bottom of the claims.
The research focused on an area near to Fort Duschesne in the Uintah Basin, not far from Skinwalker Ranch.
Accounts of mysterious Skinwalkers
Local residents had reported seeing mysterious and terrifying creatures around the property, and theories had started to emerge.
The area was a known hotspot for alleged alien encounters and paranormal activity, so the government contracted BAASS to investigate.
The company interviewed 25 witnesses, including police officers, the director of the local Fish and Wildlife Office, 15 members of the Mormon Church and 11 Native Americans.
All told relatively similar tales - a creature that walks upright like a human but has black and grey fur on it.
One account told of a creature that was 1.83 meters tall and could have weighed up to 113 kilograms.
They also claimed that the creature had a head that resembled a German shepherd dog, but a nose more like that of a human.
Strange stuff, for sure.
Another account told how the creature was chased by dogs and moved at extremely high speed, and yet another account spoke about how the creature ran into a barbed wire fence and let out an horrific unnatural howling sound.
What is a Skinwalker?
Skinwalkers, in Navajo culture, are thought to be evil witches or magical people who can transform themselves into animals.
There are a number of different ’types’
of Skinwalkers, and the Navajo people are known to be extremely wary of them and fear them.
So, are Skinwalkers real then?
As is so often in these cases, it’s hard to get to the real truth of the matter.
People see what they see, and would have no real reason to lie about it, but it’s all still pretty fanciful.
The legend is certainly well embedded into the area around there and the local Native American population.
The best piece of evidence uncovered in the report was some fur from the person who claimed his dogs chased the Skinwalker through that barbed wire fence.
The company recovered hair samples from that fence, but subsequent DNA testing confirmed a canine DNA sequence matching a dog that lived there, and other samples were raccoon DNA.
So, in the end there is no confirmation of the existence of Skinwalkers.
Still, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t out there - enough people claim to have seen them.
