Despite the frequency at which UFO sightings are reported, very few of them turn out to be any cause for investigation. A lot of the time, the 'unidentified' object turns out to be a plane or a drone, and the person who spotted it is often discovered to be either drunk, high, or just unusually keen to believe that anything flying through the sky of an evening must be evidence of alien life forms. However, sometimes reports come from slightly more reputable sources, and video footage of the object in question really does seem to indicate that it might be something extraterrestrial. This was the case 13 years ago, when two Navy airmen flying about 100 miles off the coast of San Diego spotted something strange. Navy Commander David Fravor and Navy Lieutenant Commander Jim Slaight were over the Pacific Ocean on a routine training mission when they saw something unexplainable - and now the footage of their encounter has been released. Fravor said that the pilots were first alerted to the location of the object by a Navy cruiser which had been tracking its movements over a period of two weeks. According to the Operations Officer on board the ship, the object would appear alongside several others at around 80,000 feet, then plummet downwards before hovering at around 20,000 feet. After that, it either dropped off the radar or soared back upwards. The pair were skeptical when they were first sent to investigate the objects, especially as nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary to begin with. However, after some time scanning the area around them, Fravor decided to look below - and there it was: a white oval object, just above the ocean surface, about 40 feet in length. It was jumping erratically, causing the sea to churn up underneath it. The Navy commander's immediate instinct was to make a slow descent towards the object, but he was forced to change his plans when the UFO suddenly shot up towards him. "It accelerated like nothing I've ever seen," he said. After making a snap decision to change his course, Fravor made a faster descent towards the possible aircraft, but it shot off his radar almost immediately. The two pilots then radioed in to the operations officer and were instructed to fly to a "cap point" around 60 miles away. And this is where it got really weird. While Fravor and Slaight were on their way to the meeting point, they got another message from the ship.

"Sir, you won't believe it," the radio operator said, "but that thing is at your cap point."

Fravor was stunned. "We were at least 40 miles away, and in less than a minute this thing was already at our cap point," he said. By the time they arrived, the object had gone again. "I have no idea what I saw. It had no plumes, wings or rotors and outran our F-18s," Fravor said. Whether or not the pilot's claims are true or not is a debatable matter, but video footage of the encounter seems to be pretty convincing. The Trump administration has released a new collection of previously unseen files, videos and photographs connected to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), connected to UFO sightings.

The move is part of a wider effort to increase public access to information surrounding extraterrestrial activity.

What does the new information reveal?

In a statement to Fox News, the White House said: “The latest UAP videos, photos, and original source documents from across the entire United States government are all in one place – no clearance required.”

The administration also contrasted the move with previous governments, adding: “While past administrations sought to discredit or dissuade the American people, President Trump is focused on providing maximum transparency to the public, who can ultimately make up their own minds about the information contained in these files.”

The disclosures were released through President Donald Trump’s Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, known as the PURSUE program.

Among the newly published material are photographs allegedly taken during the Apollo 12 and Apollo 17 lunar missions, showing unusual objects in the sky.

One image captured from the moon’s surface appears to display three small bright dots hovering overhead. The release also included transcripts from Apollo 17 communications discussing the unexplained sighting.

“Now we've got a few very bright particles or fragments or something that go drifting by as we maneuver,” one operator reportedly told mission control.

“Roger. Understand,” the command center responded.

Another operator added: “There's a whole bunch of big ones on my window down there - just bright. It looks like the Fourth of July out of Ron's window.”

The first operator later described the objects further, saying: “Yes. Now you can see some of them in shape. They're very jagged, angular fragments that are tumbling.”

Additional images released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation reportedly show unidentified aerial objects appearing near U.S. aircraft during New Year’s Eve celebrations in 1999.

Earlier this year, Trump addressed the topic after Barack Obama commented during a podcast interview that aliens were real.

When asked about the remarks by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, Trump criticized Obama for discussing the subject publicly.

“He gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that,” Trump said. “I don’t know if they’re real or not. I can tell you, he gave classified information. He’s not supposed to be doing that – he made a big mistake.”

What has been said about the release of the once-classified information?

Days later, Trump announced plans to release government files tied to UFOs and extraterrestrial life through a post on Truth Social.

“Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” he wrote.

He added that the files concern “highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”

Several senior officials praised the release as a major transparency initiative.

Pete Hegseth said: “The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.”

He also described the records as documents that “have long fueled justified speculation.”

Kash Patel also praised the move, stating: “For the first time in history, the American people have unfettered access to declassified government files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon — a level of transparency that no prior administration has delivered.”

Meanwhile, Jared Isaacman said the agency would continue pursuing scientific answers.

“At NASA, our job is to bring the brightest minds and most advanced scientific instruments to bear, follow the data, and share what we learn,” Isaacman said.

He concluded: “We will remain candid about what we know to be true, what we have yet to understand, and all that remains to be discovered. Exploration and the pursuit of knowledge are core to NASA’s mission as we endeavor to unlock the secrets of the universe.”

The once-classified information can now be viewed on the U.S. Department of War website.

Earlier this month, a spokesman for the Department of Defense confirmed that it does indeed continue to "pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena" - and just a few weeks later it has been reported that unidentified flying objects have been spotted by pilots in the US Navy.

In 2014 and 2015, pilots reported seeing "strange objects" during training procedures that were described as having "no visible engine or infrared exhaust plumes," and now it has been made public by a report by The New York Times.

These aircrafts were said to have reached heights of 30,000 feet, and would fly at hypersonic speeds, the pilots described. "These things would be out there all day," said Lt. Ryan Graves, an F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot. Graves has been with the Navy for a decade, and saw these UFOs as he trained near the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt.

"Keeping an aircraft in the air requires a significant amount of energy. With the speeds we observed, 12 hours in the air is 11 hours longer than we’d expect," Graves added.

The objects seen were said to have been making manoeuvres "beyond the physical limits of a human crew," such as making sudden stops, instant turns or immediate acceleration to hypersonic speeds.

The pilots interviewed in the report initially believed them to be part of a top-secret drone program, but changed their minds because government officials would have known there were fighter pilots in the area and wouldn't have risked the near-collisions.

Graves report was sent to the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, but he wasn't the only one. In late 2014, another pilot claimed he almost hit one of the objects, and described it as looking like "a sphere encasing a cube," according to the paper.

Another pilot, Lt. Danny Accoin, said he identified a nearby flying object on his radar, missile system and infrared camera but couldn’t see it in his helmet camera. "I knew I had it, I knew it was not a false hit," he said. But still, "I could not pick it up visually."

A minute-long video was also shared in the article, appearing to show two encounters:

A spokesman for the Navy, Joseph Gradisher, explained to the Times that it is still not known what caused the sightings. "There were a number of different reports," Gradisher said. "Some cases could have been commercial drones."

However, he did admit that in other cases, "we don’t know who’s doing this, we don’t have enough data to track this," adding that "the intent of the message to the fleet is to provide updated guidance on reporting procedures for suspected intrusions into our airspace.”

While Lt. Graves speculated that the US military had no vehicle which matched the attributes spotted. Lt. Accoin said: "We’re here to do a job, with excellence, not make up myths."

The incidents in the area eventually tapered off, and the Department of Defense has not made any further comment on what the objects could be.

A man who claims he traveled back in time from the year 2045 has made a series of extraordinary predictions, with one specifically impacting the United States.

The man, who calls himself Adam Archon, alleged that time travel would become available to the public in 2028. According to him, that same year will also be the moment extraterrestrials openly reveal themselves, ending what he described as years of government secrecy.

While the self-proclaimed time-traveler discussed alien life, the disappearance of physical cash, and US existentialism, there was no mention of flying, self-driving cars, android-like governance, and phones built into our hands.

Archon, who bizarrely claimed to have been born on December 6, 2019, despite recording the interview months earlier in March 2019, offered no evidence to support his story.

What does the interview reveal?

The interview recently resurfaced online following renewed interest in UFOs after the Pentagon released classified files.

Speaking while reportedly connected to a lie detector, Archon declared: "Yes, it is true that aliens did land on Earth in August 2028. In fact, we have known of the existence of aliens before 2028, but it isn't until 2028 that it becomes public knowledge."

During the interview with YouTube channel Apex TV, his face was blurred and his voice disguised. He claimed he had travelled back to a period before his own birth because, in the future, visiting history had become routine.

He also alleged: "Time travel was released to the public in 2028, but it was invented in 1981. It was just kept secret until they released it publicly."

Archon went on to suggest that many UFO sightings reported today are actually vehicles used by future time travellers visiting important historical moments.

The ten-minute interview has attracted more than 1.3 million views, with Apex TV claiming the lie detector indicated he was telling the truth throughout.

Another prediction involved a microchip known as "The One," which Archon claimed people would begin receiving in February 2029. According to him, the implant would allow users to make payments, improve brain performance, and enhance health, eventually replacing traditional money altogether.

While similar implant technology already exists for contactless payments, Archon insisted his version would make physical cash obsolete worldwide.

He then predicted an even more dramatic event. According to his timeline, the United States would no longer exist as an independent nation by 2030, becoming part of a global government divided into continental regions.

Under this system, he claimed America would become "District 3." Archon further alleged that this new world government would eventually be overseen by an artificial intelligence known as "The Light," scheduled to launch in 2033.

He claimed the AI would be integrated into every electronic device, allowing people to ask it questions at any time, while ten government officials would oversee its decisions to ensure they remained ethical.

Looking even further into the future, Archon claimed that by 2045 scientists would have successfully cloned dinosaurs, creating a real-life version of Jurassic Park.

He said: "You can see T-rexes, Triceratops, velociraptors. If they existed, you can see them. People can go and visit things in the past, like to go visit the dinosaurs or major world events."

The time-traveler has been brought into question

Despite the video's popularity, many aspects of Archon's story have been questioned.

In another video uploaded in January 2019, he predicted there would be a noticeable rise in UFO sightings later that year. Although UFO reports did increase, many of his other forecasts failed to happen.

For example, he claimed: "In 2020, there will be a robot released to the public that causes a lot of controversy."

No such widely recognised event occurred, and he also made no mention of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Viewers also noticed an inconsistency in the recording itself. One sceptic commented: "Does anyone else see that the video is 3:36 minutes long but the clock in the back moves a good 15 minutes? That means this was rehearsed and they had to cut out the mistakes."

Perhaps his most controversial prediction involved Yolanda Renee King, the granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr. During the interview, Archon claimed: "Yolanda Renee King does become, and she is in fact noted as the greatest president of the United States, yes I can confirm."

However, critics pointed out a major contradiction. If the United States ceased to exist by 2030, as Archon predicted, there would be no US presidency for King to hold.

In addition, King would not reach the constitutional minimum age of 35 to run for president until 2043, making the timeline impossible under current US law.

A radio interceptor claims to have tapped into a recording of an American Airlines pilot talking about his close encounter with a UFO.

Per ABC7, the incident took place 36 thousand feet above New Mexico during an otherwise normal four-hour flight to Phoenix, Arizona.

"Do you have any targets up here?" reportedly said the pilot from the cockpit of American Airlines flight 2292.

This was the beginning of the 15-second communication overheard by radio interceptor Steve Douglass, in his airwave capture cave, and what happened next was truly chilling.

"I heard this aircraft, basically, above all other aircraft because the tone in his voice was so excited," Douglass later said.

At this point in the flight, the plant was making its way over the northwest corner of New Mexico.

"We just had something go right over the top of us," the pilot told air traffic control. "I hate to say this but it looked like a long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing - moving really fast right over the top of us."

"Talking to an ex-military pilot I know, he says that for them to see this object had to be coming at them practically head-on," Douglass said. "So whatever it was, came fast and right at them and right over them which gave them a big enough scare they had to report it."

Once the report is registered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a full investigation into what the UFO could have been is then launched.

"They meet you at the plane and then they have to discuss the whole thing and do paperwork figure out what it was," Douglass said.

Audio from the cockpit revealed that the object resembled military firepower and "almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing."

However, according to Douglass, at the time of the incident, the military was not in this airspace.

"It was a Sunday basically it's a military's day off."

There was no military test notification either.

"When tests occur, the military notifies the FAA and aircraft are kept out of the area," explained Douglass. "Their schedules and strict flight lanes need to not interfere with these tests. But that's not what happened yesterday."

The FAA must then rule out a number of possibilities about what the UFO might be, but "if the military can't explain what it is, then what's flying out there that we don't know about?"
