The release of the true crime Netflix docuseries Death of the Pastor’s Wife has once again brought attention to JP Miller and his late wife Mica Miller.
Mica was married to Pastor John-Paul (JP) Miller for seven years before she took her own life, with court records stating that she had endured years of emotional and physical abuse during her marriage.
South Carolina church Solid Rock rose to infamy following Mica's death, and it is once again under the spotlight following August's Netflix docuseries release.
The church is spoken about in Death of the Pastor’s Wife in grave detail, with the three-part series covering all bases in the death of Mica.
While there were some details left out of the final cut, many viewers have started to wonder what happened to the church following the controversial suicide.
Protests took place every week outside Solid Rock Church during Sunday service, in response to Mica's death, as per The Sun News in 2024.
Those in the crowd shouted 'justice for Mica' and 'you can’t hide from the FBI'.
The church would eventually close its doors for good, which JP's legal team blamed on protestors, as lawyer Russell Long addressed the public in November 2024.
During a press conference, he claimed: "They show up to hold up signs and scream and speak into bullhorns and yell and harass to the point where they basically killed the church."
"The church has died. The church has closed down," he confirmed.
JP would later sell the 2.3-acre church for an eye-watering $2.1 million, as it was reported in February 2025 that there were plans to demolish the building to make space for condos.
Speaking to the publication at the time, the disgraced Pastor stated: "The city of (Myrtle Beach) did not come through for us, they did not protect us, they did not stop the harassment.
"So after 70 years of that chapel being protected from category 5 hurricanes, wars, and redevelopment, it will now be torn down and have condos built in its place, thanks to the city of (Myrtle Beach)."
It was also claimed that JP's church allegedly bought a small plane, formally registered to Solid Rock Ministries, with close friend Mark Kaufman registered as a co-owner.
The demolition of Solid Rock Church is still anticipated, with no date set.
JP founded Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach back in 2016, where he started to preach as a pastor.
Just one year before, he started his affair with Mica, who was just 20 at the time, while he was 35 and married to Alison Williams, with whom he shares five kids.
After tying the knot in 2017, it was later revealed that Mica underwent a torrent of abuse from her husband, leading to her first filing for divorce from JP in 2023.
As per PEOPLE, JP was 'emotionally manipulative and overly controlling', with Mica's loved ones explaining that her relationship was toxic in the doc.
Just one year after their separation, Mica took her own life after traveling to Lumber River State Park in North Carolina in April 2024, shortly after serving JP with divorce papers.
After authorities had recovered her body in a park and the medical examiner ruled her death a suicide, protests began outside Solid Rock Church.
It was revealed that JP had cyberstalked and tracked Mica, as well as making false statements to investigators in December 2025, as he would be indicted by a federal grand jury.
JP pleaded not guilty and has not been charged in connection with his former wife's death, with his trial scheduled for October.
