Trump has blunt response to Kristi Noem's husband being pictured cross-dressing
President Donald Trump has shared a blunt response after it was reported that Kristi Noem’s husband, Bryon Noem, had been secretly cross-dressing and engaging in explicit online behavior.
This week, the Daily Mail published compromising photos of Bryon dressed in women's clothing with fake breasts, along with a series of lewd conversations he allegedly had in online fetish forums.
The outlet claimed that the 56-year-old had shared explicit photos and sent over $25,000 via Cash App and PayPal to online models.
President Trump spoke about the controversial images in a phone interview with the Daily Mail, saying: "They confirmed it? Wow, well, I feel badly for the family if that's the case, that's too bad."
The 79-year-old added that he had no prior knowledge of the situation, stating: "I haven’t seen anything. I don’t know anything about it."
"That’s too bad, but I just know nothing about it," he added.
Impact on National Security
It's been suggested that Bryon's actions could have potentially compromised national security.
Experts have raised concerns that the former Secretary of Homeland Security could have been vulnerable to blackmail due to her husband's secret online behavior.
Noem, who held a top-secret security clearance during her tenure, was entrusted with sensitive national security information, leading some to question whether Bryon's actions should have disqualified her from such a position.
One senior DHS official noted that any spouse involved in similar behavior would likely be deemed ineligible for a security clearance due to concerns about blackmail.
"I can vouch for the blackmail claim," the official stated. "This would have been a disqualification for national security eligibility for anyone else whose spouse was hiding this."
The Family's Reaction
Kristi and her family were reportedly "blindsided" by the report.
A spokesperson for the 54-year-old, who married her husband in 1992 and shares three children with him, said she is "devastated," adding: "[The family] ask for privacy and prayers at the time."
Bryon himself denied the allegations of compromising national security, telling the Daily Mail: "Yeah, I made no comments like that, that would lead to that."
However, he did not deny the photos or explicit conversations that had surfaced.
When reached for comment about the images, he refused to comment further and ended the phone call.
This revelation comes just weeks after Trump fired Kristi from her position as Secretary of Homeland Security following national backlash over her department's controversial immigration enforcement tactics.
She also faced scrutiny for a $220 million taxpayer-funded advertising campaign that the president denied approving.
In addition to the focus on her husband, rumors have swirled about her alleged affair with her close adviser, Corey Lewandowski.
Lawmakers questioned her under oath in early March, asking if she had ever had sexual relations with Lewandowski, and she did not provide a direct denial, instead responding: "I am shocked that we're going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee," per E! News.
