OnlyFans star Sophie Rain was reportedly left shaken after an obsessed fan allegedly traveled more than a thousand miles in an attempt to meet her, before reportedly trying to grab her when she rejected his advances.
The 21-year-old was making her runway debut during Miami Swim Week in May when the disturbing encounter allegedly took place at the Mondrian South Beach hotel.
According to Rain's close friend and marketing head Connor McCrory, the man approached her in the hotel's lobby and claimed he had traveled from New York specifically because he wanted to marry her.
“He had apparently traveled from New York to Miami specifically to find Sophie. That immediately raised serious concerns for everyone around her,” McCrory told The Post in a recent interview.
“It was especially alarming because this was not somebody who simply recognized Sophie and asked for a photograph. He claimed he had crossed several states because he intended to marry her.”
The situation allegedly escalated when the man attempted to grab Rain after she rebuffed him. “At that point, our only priority was getting her away from him and making sure she was safe,” McCrory said.
“When someone says they traveled that far to marry a person they have never met and then tries to grab her, you cannot treat that as harmless excitement. It has to be taken seriously.”
Rain's team did not contact police over the incident, but they did inform hotel staff about what had happened: “We wanted staff to be aware of the situation in case he remained on or returned to the property,” McCrory explained.
The social media personality is one of OnlyFans' biggest earners, reportedly bringing in around $45 million per year, while also becoming known for publicly maintaining her virginity.
Rain has previously described her content as being limited to “lingerie-bikini level suggestive teasing”.
The alleged encounter is not the first time Rain has faced concerns over obsessive fans, with the latest incident coming after Rain's team dealt with another troubling alleged stalking case involving Connor Litka.
Litka was accused of breaking into a property Rain had been renting last year. More recently, he reportedly went missing from an Indiana crisis center, and according to court documents obtained by TMZ, Litka told an employee as he left that he hoped to return to “Florida to be with Sophie”.
He allegedly referred to Rain as his girlfriend and claimed the pair had made a “blood oath” together, and as of Friday, McCrory revealed there had been no update regarding Litka's whereabouts.
The alleged incident has prompted Rain's team to considerably increase the security presence surrounding her.
“I know Sophie genuinely wants the best for him, and for him to get the proper treatment and care required, but at the same time, we’ve had to hire multiple off-duty police officers to travel with her wherever she goes,” McCrory said.
The additional protection is also reportedly proving extremely expensive.
“It’s starting to cost close to $50,000 a month just for security because of stalking incidents.”
