The internet is witnessing another viral surge surrounding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
A new individual has come forward online to present personal 'evidence', asserting that she could be the missing British child.
Social media accounts have amplified these assertions, stirring widespread conversation among true crime followers and online spectators.
This dynamic closely follows a previous case from early 2023. During that period, a Polish woman named Julia Wandelt gained global attention by asserting she was Madeleine.
Wandelt posted details on Instagram under an account titled I Am Madeleine McCann, launched live streams, and requested formal testing. Her actions ultimately led to legal trouble over allegations involving the family of the missing girl.
Following those public appearances, a new figure stepped into the spotlight.
Eugenea Collins, a twenty-two-year-old living in Arkansas, watched an interview featuring Wandelt. Observing that broadcast prompted Collins to examine her own life, leading her to believe that she shared significant connections with the missing child.
Collins began assembling what she considers personal proof. She completed an ancestry test indicating that she is 68 percent English and northwestern European. She maintains that this genetic background reinforces her position, even though local law enforcement officials in Arkansas did not pursue her reports.
Collins also attempted to reach investigators at Operation Grange, the official Metropolitan Police unit dedicated to the case.
In addition to genetic testing, Collins points to complications surrounding her official paperwork. She states that she has been unable to obtain standard identification documents or access a regular birth record.
"I am unable to get any kind of identification," she told MailOnline. "I couldn’t even get any help from the people at the Red Cross when my house was burned because I have no identification".
She further noted: "I have never seen an original birth certificate either. The only thing I saw had someone else’s name wrote on it and they marked that out and wrote mine above it".
To share her perspective, Collins set up a dedicated Instagram page named Official Madeleine McCann, which has since been removed.
On that platform, she highlighted an elementary school writing assignment that she feels described an abduction. She also posted comparison images showing herself in clothing resembling items worn by Madeleine in well-known photographs.
Her assertions drew a wide range of responses from online commenters who raised questions about visual physical differences. When users mentioned differences in ear shape, Collins addressed the criticism directly. "People keep saying something about [my] ears not being a match, but I have scars on mine. Never noticed them until they pointed out they were different, I had my boyfriend look at the back of them and they have scars on them".
Despite the ongoing speculation, official authorities have not validated these claims. The situation continues to generate mixed reactions across major social media networks.
