If you are a fan of grim predictions and dark portents, you might want to tune in for what Nostradamus forecast for the end of 2025.
Sure, he might have been dead for half a millennium, but we are still getting semi-regular updates from the famous French future forecaster.
Often, they don’t bode well, and this one is no different.
Nostradamus has made a few significant predictions before now
Whether you believe in all of this depends on your perspective, but to those who do take heed of Nostradamus’ historical warnings and prophecies, he’s had a few significant successes.
In fact, he’s said by some to have predicted the Great Fire of London, the rise of Napoleon and Hitler, and the French Revolution, amongst other notable events.

It’s never said in exact words, but you can read into them enough - and believe us, people do - to twist them into fitting with reality.
So, without further ado, we’ll have a look at what he reckons is coming down the pipeline at us, shall we?
It feels like we should have a spoiler alert here for some reason, so if you don't want to know what happens at the end of this particular grim series of 'real life' - look away now.
What did Nostradamus predict for 2025?
Read into this what you will.
"When Mars rules his path among the stars, human blood will sprinkle the sanctuary.
"Three fires rise from the Eastern sides, while the West loses its light in silence."
It’s cryptic, that’s for sure - so let’s have a deeper dive.
Mars is the Roman god of war, and anything that involves ‘human blood’ getting sprinkled can’t be great.
As for those ‘three fires’ that are set to rise on the Eastern sides, we can only maybe assume we’re talking about war around the world.
Perhaps in Israel and Palestine, or Russia and Ukraine, or something totally new - that’s the thing with these predictions, we simply don’t know.

One thing that we do know is that his thoughts for the end of 2025 weren’t exactly filled with dreams of harmony and world peace.
But then, you wouldn’t have to be an ancient prophet to work that out, you’d just have to turn on the news.
In reality, the truth is that we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, as we always do.
Next year, maybe we'll hear something less depressing.
