Over the last month or so, we've seen a couple of stories about people claiming to have either traveled in time, or to have uncovered the secret to how time travel is possible. And, while many of us are often quick to brush off such accounts as far-fetched nonsense, there are some people out there who believe it. Some scientific explanations do seem to hold up more than others, and tales about alien intervention or government experiments have very little proof either way - so, for some folks, there is a definite possibility that time travel is not just already possible, it's already happened. Whether you're a believer or a skeptic, though, this one account of a self-proclaimed time-traveler is sure to make you a little unsettled. In a bizarre YouTube video, a man named only as 'Noah' claims that he has traveled to the future - and what he's seen isn't exactly pretty. The video, posted by a channel called Paranormal Elite, begins with a short introduction explaining that Noah was part of a "government project in America", and is using a false name due to a "fear of being assassinated". It goes on to say that Noah has some mental health issues due to his years of time travel, and that - while he appears young - he has actually lived for "about 50 years". Then, Noah begins to speak. From the offset, the man seems to be pretty shaken up. He talks quickly and unevenly, and, despite him using a voice distorter, it's easy to tell that he is nervous. One of the first things he says is, "It is not my intent to deceive anybody, my sole objective is to prove to you that time travel exists in the next few years." He claims to have traveled back here from early in the year 2021 - the timeline he "belongs in" - but that he has no way to get back. When Noah talks about this, he actually gets quite distressed, and can be heard crying with apparent sincerity as he says he is "stuck here". Noah explains that time travel has actually been possible since 2003, but it's only used by "top secret organizations". Though he doesn't actually go into any detail about how the process works, he does say that "In 2028, private organizations will admit to the world that time travel is real," and commercial time travel will be available in the same year. So I guess we'll find out soon enough. As for his "proof" that he's been to the future, this is what Noah has to say: "Electric cars and self-driving cars will be dramatically improved. A consumer electric car will be able to travel 600 miles on a single charge in 2021.  "Many people are spending a lot of their time in virtual reality ... "AI will also be huge and growing in 2021." I mean, those are pretty basic if you ask me. Looking at the way technology is progressing anyway, it would be logical to assume that these things were going to happen without the need to confirm it with time travel. But Noah has one more bombshell up his sleeve. "I promise that the President of the United States after the 2020 election will be Donald J Trump," he says. Yikes. Welcome to 2018, the year where literally everyone claims to be a time traveler. Since the turn of the year, there has been a notable rise in people telling us that they're from the future and giving us some scary predictions.

First of all, there was the guy who claimed to be from the year 2030 and said he knew who the winner of the 2020 election was. Then, there was a man from the year 6000, who apparently had photographic evidence from the future, but he had to blur his face and distort his voice so that "the government" wouldn't find him. More recently, however, a woman from the 22nd century who said she'd already visited the '50s and '80s, but was stopping by in 2018 to say... well, not much, to be honest.

But now, we have a man who was born in 2043 and has arrived in 2018 to make some shocking claims.

Michael Phillips uploaded a bizarre video onto his YouTube channel in which he claims that North Korea will go to war with the US. Like all the other legitimate time travelers, Michael makes sure to use a voice distorter in order to keep his identity sealed. The man claims that a government agency sent him back through time in a machine of possible alien origin.

In the video, he says:

“Hello, my name is Michael and I have quite the story to tell you.

“I am a time traveler. Yes.”

Phillips claims he was born in 2043 and says that he joined the army at the age of 18 before being picked for time travel experiments.

Describing what will become of the world in 30 years time, he says:

“I do want to tell you about North Korea because they do attempt to launch a nuclear weapon at the US – that happens later on this year in late 2018.

“Hopefully we can change the timeline so it doesn’t happen. That’s a partial reason for creating this video. North Korea does attempt to attack a US territory – that’s what I’ll call it – in response the US sends two cruise missiles laden with nuclear tips. Two of those to Pyongyang.

“Unfortunately what happens as a result of this nuclear exchange, in 2019 World War 3 does happen. It kicks off.

“It wasn’t an unlimited war – nowhere near the scale of World War 1 or World War 2, however, I have to try and stop it from happening. I don’t want people to die.”

Phillips also claims that the world will suffer from several natural disasters, leaving parts of it inhospitable for human life. But, he does claim that by 2025, humans will have step foot on Mars.

Of course, given the nature of his claims, everything Michael says should be taken with a pinch of salt. There is no hard evidence to suggest that time travel is possible and it's more than likely that Michael and his merry band of travelers are just pulling our legs.

But, the biggest bombshell was: "I promise that the President of the United States after the 2020 election will be Donald J Trump." Understandably, people called bulls**t on a lot of Noah's claims, with plenty of people saying that he is just a prankster. But, in spite of the negativity, Noah has appeared for a second video in which he takes a lie detector test in order to prove that he is not a liar. In a recent interview with Apex TV, he was asked to relay the claims that he made while also confirming whether or not he is really from the future. Of course, Noah responded, saying that he is from 2030 and a green header appears on the screen saying 'true'. However, the result on the machine cannot be seen. He was then asked if he had hard evidence to back up the claims that Trump would be elected, Bitcoin will be used regularly, humans would travel to Mars in 2028 and that electric cars will travel at 600mph. However, he replies to this question saying that he can't give proof 'due to a paradox', and the 'true' header appears again. Noah then goes on to reel off a list of things that will happen in the future and continues to receive 'true' headers throughout. So there you have it, Noah is telling the truth. Or, this video is just a load of trash. Personally, I'm going for the latter.

So far, 2018 is really setting up to be the year of the time traveler. Every week or so, someone emerges on YouTube or gives an interview to the media claiming that they're from the future - albeit always with very little evidence to prove they're telling the truth.

One of the first prominent "time travelers" was a man called Noah Novak, who claimed at the end of last year that he was part of a "government project in America" and had traveled back in time from the year 2030. "It is not my intent to deceive anybody, my sole objective is to prove to you that time travel exists in the next few years," he said in his first video.

Then, in a later clip, Noah apparently passed a polygraph test - thus proving that he was indeed from the future - but the results were never shown on screen. Now, in the most recent update, the self-declared time lord (or con artist) claims that the future version of himself is also here in this timeline, and so they decided to meet.

In a clip on YouTube, the Noah from 2030 supposedly met an older version of himself from 2070. According to young Noah, the older man knew too much about him for it to be a lie.

"He showed a bunch of personal information, he said a bunch of things about what I did, he said all the sequence of events and stuff since I came back from 2017," said young Noah. "He said everything that I did, and this is the type of stuff that someone would have to stalk me for my whole life to figure out."

But is there a possibility that the older man has just done his research? Young Noah doesn't think so.

"Obviously it would be really hard for him to figure out all of this information. There is no way that he could figure all this out unless he stalked me from the very beginning. I believe he is me from the future."

But wait, if both these people are Noah, shouldn't that cause a time loop or a paradox or something? You know, like in Back to the Future when Marty prevents his own existence. Well, it seems that young Noah was wondering the same thing - but old Noah had a conveniently basic answer: science.

"How are you able to talk with me?" young Noah asked.

"They inject time travelers with microchips that help prevent the person to prevent paradoxes so they don’t say something out of order," said old Noah.

Right. Microchips.

Anyway, the pair then discuss future technology, and ongoing war in space, and "very fast" cars. Unfortunately, neither version of the time traveler could disclose too much information because - obviously - that would cause a paradox, and we don't want to go tearing any holes in the universe now, do we?

The way I see it, there are three possible scenarios here. Either both men are in on it together, and have come up with this elaborate claim to bolster both their stories; or older Noah is conning younger Noah for some unexplained reason; or - and I secretly hope it's this one - they are the same person, and time travel is possible.

Unfortunately, I think it's most likely to be option one.

As a devoted Doctor Who and Back to the Future fan, I've always wanted to own a time machine. It would be amazing to travel all through history. To see famous events from the past: like the birth of Christ, or the Gettysburg address, or Woodstock.

Even more exciting is the possibility of travelling forward in time to visit the future. I want to see how human history pans out, and what's in store for our species in years to come. Maybe we'll finally get the flying cars and jetpacks we've always wanted, or maybe the future Earth will be a blasted, irradiated hell-hole thanks to nuclear wars or climate change.

The thing is, there are positively loads of self-professed time travellers knocking about on the internet, each of them claiming to be from the future with unique insights on how everything will turn out a few years down the line. They're probably completely baloney, but some of them are at least interesting to read about.

One of these enigmatic time-travel impersonators is a man who goes by the name 'Adam Archon.' Adam's identity has been kept secret (probably because it's a hoax) but he's been sharing his knowledge of the future on the YouTube channel ApexTV, and makes some pretty bizarre claims.

One of his boldest claims, for example, is that Martin Luther King Jr's granddaughter, Yolanda Renee King will become president by 2030. What's more, 'Adam' claims that she will be the last ever president of the United States.

The so-called time traveller states: "The last formal President of the United States is Yolanda King. She’s the best President the United States has ever seen." 'Adam also stated that the existence of aliens will be revealed to the public by August 2028, adding: "I cannot say where they’re from but it is not from space ... In February 2029, there is an implanted chip known as 'The One', that lets people pay, expand their brain functions and stay healthy. This will go in your right hand."

Furthermore, 'Adam' claims that the first ever robot will be released to the public in 2020, and spark a wave of controversy. Then, by the early 2030s, all countries around the globe will start to merge into one, and people in the future will become cashless and adopt one single digital currency.

As nice as it is to watch movies and TV shows about time travel on TV, the reality is that time travel is scientifically impossible. Don't be mad at me, take it up with Albert Einstein. And while you're at it, take Adam's comments with a pinch of salt.
