Drake and Adin Ross have vowed that they will cover the funeral costs of the TikTok star who tragically died after allegedly enduring "ten days and nights of torture".
French streaming star Raphaël Graven, best known as Jean Pormanove, tragically passed away earlier this week.
Pormanove was reportedly subjected to “ten days and nights of torture” during a live-streaming marathon, allegedly at the hands of fellow streamers Naruto and Safine.
His death, which occurred on August 17–18, has raised suspicions of foul play, although authorities in France have stated that there is no initial indication of anything suspicious, pending an autopsy.
The disturbing circumstances surrounding Pormanove’s death have prompted Adin Ross and Drake to step in and offer support.
Ross, who has previously collaborated with the rapper on charity streams, took to X to announce that he and the 'Hotline Bling' hitmaker would cover the costs of the streamer’s funeral.
"This is horrible and disgusting. Whoever was apart of this deserves to face severe consequences," the streamer wrote. "I just spoke with Drake. Drake and I will be covering the funeral costs, this won’t bring his life back, it’s the least we can do. Prayers go out to Jean’s family."
The duo's gesture has been widely appreciated by Pormanove’s fans. "This is a very saddening situation, and I hope whoever caused this gets what they deserve. Thank you, Adin, for always stepping up to the plate," one wrote.
Another shared: "Adin and Drake stepping up like that shows real heart," while a third added: "Shout out to Adin for covering the funeral you earned my respect and that’s not something a lot can brag about."
Pormanove was known for his extreme content, often sharing controversial and disturbing streams on platforms like TikTok and Kick, which earned him over 500,000 followers, per TMZ.
However, reports from French media outlets suggest that during a 10-day streaming marathon leading up to his death, the content creator faced physical violence, sleep deprivation, and forced ingestion of toxic substances.
The incident reportedly ended with him dying on a live stream, with one of the teens believed to have recorded the moment as Pormanove lay dying.
A troubling message from Pormanove to his mother just days before his death revealed his distress, with the streamer claiming he was “held hostage” and “fed up” with the ongoing streams.
The local prosecutor’s office in Nice has launched an investigation into the circumstances of Pormanove’s death. Though early findings suggest no immediate suspicion, an autopsy is expected to shed light on the cause of death.
The focus remains on the involvement of fellow streamers Naruto and Safine, who allegedly played a role in the abusive environment that led to his passing.
In January 2025, the pair was briefly taken into custody on suspicion of creating degrading content involving vulnerable individuals, though they were released the same day.
French Minister for Digital Affairs, Clara Chappaz, has publicly denounced their actions, calling it “humiliation and abuse” and stressing that online platforms must take responsibility for hosting such harmful content.
“This type of failure can lead to the worst and has no place in France, Europe, or anywhere else,” Chappaz added, cited by Sky News.
Calls for justice have also been voiced by other officials, including Sarah El Hairy, France’s high commissioner for children, who called the situation “horrifying” and emphasized the need for stricter regulation of online content.
Kick, the platform where Pormanove frequently streamed, has promised to review the circumstances surrounding his death.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jean Pormanove and extend our condolences to his family, friends, and community," a spokesperson said in a statement. "Kick's community guidelines are designed to protect creators, and we remain committed to upholding these standards across our platform."
As the investigation continues, the funeral fund set up by Ross and Drake has been a comforting gesture for the late star's loved ones.
