Following a reportedly tense phone call discussing the war with Iran, US President Donald Trump made a bold claim about Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump reportedly said that the Israeli Prime Minister will “do whatever I want”, implying Netanyahu’s weakness after last month's cancer revelation.
The scarily powerful pair’s “lengthy and dramatic” conversation revolved around Trump’s latest decision, not to restart strikes on Tehran, despite claiming just two days earlier that he was minutes away from launching a fresh attack.
Netanyahu’s plan has not changed since the beginning. He aims to destroy Iran‘s regional militias, such as the Houthis, dismantle their nuclear programme, and extinguish all their missile capabilities.
Israel has not, as of yet, achieved any of their three main goals, so it might not be happy with Trump’s latest peaceful declaration.
Yesterday, Trump announced that he is in “no hurry” to begin strikes again and is willing to give Iran another “shot” during previously unsuccessful peace talks.
Allegedly, shortly after he made these remarks, the president called his accomplice, Netanyahu.
Later in the day, Trump told reporters that he had successfully convinced the Israeli prime minister to agree with his decision.
In an impromptu interview at an airbase in Maryland, Trump said: “He’s [Netanyahu] fine, he’ll do whatever I want him to do.
“He’s a very- very good man. He’ll do whatever I want him to do. And he’s a great guy.”
In another shocking move from the almost 80-year-old president, he also told journalists he “could run for prime minister” in Israel, and he could even win.
Explaining his ludicrous fantasies, Trump said, after his second and final term in the Oval Office: “I’ll go to Israel, run for prime minister. I had a poll this morning. I’m 99 per cent, so that’s good.”
Although he did not say it outright, many people online are speculating that the billionaire president made the comments to mock his Middle Eastern counterpart after he revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis last month.
At the end of April, Netanyahu explained that he underwent surgery for an enlarged prostate in 2024, adding that a follow-up revealed that "a tiny spot of less than a centimeter was discovered in the prostate."
While it didn't require urgent treatment, the 76-year-old decided to go under the knife, which "left no trace" of the health condition.
The prime minister said that he did not make the information public at the time because he believed it would have been used as propaganda by Iran.
However, in light of Trump’s most recent comments, it seems that it has still come back to bite him.
