A Twitch streamer has sparked outrage after attacking an elderly man who asked him to stop filming on a train.

A streamer known as @Kelton_g was dressed in a Monkey D. Luffy cosplay while live-streaming on a train in Japan.

His reaction to being approached by an elderly man has sparked serious outrage online.

Twitch streamer @Kelton_g has been slammed for his actions

In the viral video, the elderly man approaches him, reaching for the younger man's hat.

Kelton moves his head back in response and says, “It’s okay” before standing up and shoving him.

He then shoves the older man again as he attempts to walk back to his seat.

The shocking scene has drawn a flood of backlash online, with many condemning the streamer’s actions.

One user wrote: “Disgusting behavior - pushing an elderly person could seriously injure or even kill them?”

Another critic slammed: “I don’t understand how someone can go to a foreign country and behave like that."

A third commenter remarked: “Understand the f***ing norms and culture.

"I hope they throw his a** in jail and deport him.

"This is incredibly disrespectful in Japan.

"To even talk on the phone on the train is a big no-no.”

Streamer Defends Himself, Apologizes for Actions

In response to the growing outrage, the streamer addressed the situation on Instagram by sharing a longer video that provided more context.

In the clip, the elderly man can be seen putting his hands on Kelton multiple times before walking away.

However, he returns shortly after, prompting the streamer to shove him twice.

Kelton apologized in the video caption, admitting that his behavior was “not the most correct with this person.”

He explained that his actions were driven by self-defense, stating: “But I promise that it was with the purpose of defending myself against the constant intimidation that was against me.”

“In Japan, people are really respectful and very good, and they are always very hospitable and calm, but unfortunately, I had to live this experience traveling on a train in Fukuoka,” he continued.

"Both the other person and I acted badly, the gentleman for being rude to me and trying to hit me 3 times in a row, and I for pushing him, I hope the context is clear and that I acted only in a defensive position and never to hurt anyone!” he concluded.

Cultural Context and Criticism

Despite his apology, many online users pointed out that the streamer’s actions were out of line in Japan’s public culture.

In the East Asian country, behaviors such as speaking loudly or filming on trains are often seen as disruptive and disrespectful.

One person commented: “I’m not from Japan and I’ve never been there, but it’s really clear for me that they don’t like noisy people in public places. It’s something called respect. I can see you don’t know how to respect people.”

However, not everyone condemned the streamer’s actions after watching the full video, as some argued that he had a right to defend himself.

“The Japanese dude put his hands on him first, in a previous clip. Tried to take his stuff. Surely you have some sort of right to defend yourself?” one wrote.

They acknowledged that while the second shove might not have been necessary, the initial response was understandable.
