Scary moment Dakota Johnson's interview is interrupted by LA earthquake

Dakota Johnson was left shaken when an earthquake in Los Angeles interrupted her interview.

The 34-year-old actress made headlines while promoting her new movie Madame Web, in which she plays Cassandra Webb alongside Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, and Isabela Merced.

The suspense-driven thriller follows Web, a New York City paramedic "who develops the power to see the future and realizes she can use that insight to change it," according to an official synopsis.

"Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women bound for powerful destinies — if they can all survive a deadly present," it added.

Johnson spoke about the newly released film during an interview with Entertainment Tonight but was thrown by the sound of rumblings in the walls.

In a clip shared by the outlet, an interviewer asks if the shaking they just experienced was an earthquake, and Johnson’s jaw drops. "Did you just do that?" someone off-screen asks the actress, who calmly quips, "Did I?"

The Fifth Shades of Grey alum was seemingly unfazed by the moment as she added: "Do you like that we all just sat here? Fabulous." The interviewer then asked if they should proceed after the interruption, to which Johnson jokes: "Continue, I guess."

However, she remarked that "there will be an aftershock," adding: "That was a big earthquake...Spooky!"

Many fans on social media were stunned by her unimpressed reaction to the earthquake, with one user writing: "She really just sat there like it’s nothing while the world started [tweaking]."

Another chimed in: "'Do you like that we all just sat here?' so perfectly captures the experience," while someone else remarked: "Dakota Johnson has the strangest and most compelling [effect] of any A-list Hollywood celeb."

A fourth person gushed: "Even the way she handles earthquakes is iconic."

At the Los Angeles premiere of her Sony Marvel film on Monday (February 12), the Persuasion actress spoke with the same publication once more, this time reflecting on the moment that has now gone viral on social media.

"Well, I feel like, you know, we live in California," Johnson said about the online reaction to her interview. "What are you gonna do? Freak out about an earthquake?"

The star also pointed out that neither she nor the interviewers did what experts advise in case of an earthquake, which is to drop and take cover. "None of us did,” she said. "Nobody did that."
