New heartbreaking details have emerged surrounding the death of Slash's stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight.
On July 22, the Guns N’ Roses guitarist announced the passing of his 25-year-old stepchild on Instagram.
"Lucy-Bleu Knight (December 6, 1998), beloved daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA on July 19, 2024," the statement read.
The 59-year-old described Lucy-Bleu as “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul," and asked for “privacy” and that “social media speculation be kept to a minimum” as he and his family “grieve and process this devastating loss".
Knight was born on December 6, 1998, to parents Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight. Her mom first dated the rock and roll legend in 1989 before rekindling their relationship in 2015.
According to The New York Post, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that her cause of death was suicide and that she passed away from hydrogen sulfide toxicity, which is a toxic, volatile gas that can be fatal to humans.
In addition to this, another report by the same outlet states that Knight had “a history of undiagnosed mental illness," and that her family allegedly said: “She was paranoid and would have hallucinations".
“This 25-year-old female was found in a residence with suicide notes and evidence of hydrogen sulfide inhalation,” the report noted, adding that her toxicology results tested positive for the presence of thiosulfate.

More heartwrenching details were shared about Knight's passing, with a report stating that she was discovered on the bathroom floor of the Los Angeles Airbnb she booked for four days. She was scheduled to check out on July 15.
The property manager attempted to message the artist many times and was “unable to access the front door” of the residence before contacting emergency services.
When officers arrived on July 19, they “noticed resistance they described as ‘suction’ when opening the front door of the unit,” as cited by the outlet.
“Upon opening the locked door, Officers observed a hand-written sign apparently meant for first responders warning about toxic gas. A chemical scent was also detected by Officers, who immediately backed out of the residence and called for assistance," the report continued.
The report also claimed that she had left notes on a side table.
Following further investigation, the Fire Department Squad 87 Hazmat Unit recovered lethal doses of sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, cerium hydroxide, and sodium thiosulfate.
They also found antidepressants, including escitalopram, which helps maintain mental balance, and paliperidone, which is usually for treating schizophrenia, in Knight’s wallet.
Three days after Knight's death was announced by her family, she posthumously shared a post on Instagram, which included a picture of the artist and a heartbreaking message.
"Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity-I am sorry," the post read.
"Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart, and fear of being vulnerable," she continued. "May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace."
Her mom, Meegan, responded to the cryptic post, saying: “MY BABY GIRL I LOVE YOU WITH EVERYTHING. I’M SO SORRY."
Our thoughts continue to be with Knight's loved ones at this time.
