We make our own Christmas traditions. However, the more that goes on, the more that can go wrong! The tree falls down, the dog eats the presents, the cat pulls down the lights, your racist old grandmother goes on a tirade after a few sherries, the presents don't arrive in time, someone sets fire to your boat - it really matters not! Absolute anything can go wrong in and around this yearly event. I bet you're worried now, aren't you? Well, ignore that worry and laugh at the following calamities!
[post_page_title]#1 Clean Eating[/post_page_title]
Christmas is a time of receiving the same old gifts year in year out from the same family members. Usually. The caption really says it all here, kids, and I hope you have truly learned a lesson. It really does bring new meaning to "washing your mouth out with soap" doesn't it?.
[post_page_title]#2 Passive Aggression At Its Absolute Finest[/post_page_title]
'My Parents Made My Wife A Stocking For Christmas' - Spending time with your parents or in-laws, distant family or family friends can be a strain on the mind. Especially if there is some bad blood or you simply can't stand whoever it is sat at your table. However, this goes a little further, especially when you're aware of how a member of your family feels towards your partner.
[post_page_title]#3 Prank or Prophecy?[/post_page_title]
As much as this is very, very, very, very, very - VERY amusing to us, I can't imagine it was initially to the owner of this garage. The dinner is in the over, you come outside to move the car to make room for nana and grandad's needlessly huge car and you find this, but, is there more to it? People eat a lot of meat at Christmas... Just saying.
[post_page_title]#4 Well, There Goes Christmas Lunch[/post_page_title]
I mean, wow, I honestly would not know how to react if this happened to me. I would likely just stand and stare in complete and utter bewilderment at what lay before me. If only - A) This was that sugar glass they use in action blockbusters and B) These people had a better understanding of how physics and specifically heat works with glass surfaces!
[post_page_title]#5 Merry Christmas![/post_page_title]
And so we see this image before us, much like the image that may well have brought you here, this won't be the last time something like this graces this list. I mean it obviously wasn't the cat now, was it? Cats have absolutely no tendency to wreck things simply because they can...
[post_page_title]#6 Starting Christmas On The Wrong Foot[/post_page_title]
What I adore about these lists is that as much as I enjoy writing a few words here and there to accentuate the hilarity in front of me and ultimately you, sometimes, I simply don't need to. All in all, I guess we're just another foot through the floor.
[post_page_title]#7 Brand New Christmas Decorations, Dog Did Not Approve[/post_page_title]
Ah Christmas, ah having to leave to house, ah having pets that you leave in the house while you go out for an indeterminate amount of time. Ah coming home to find the pet has done something and is now skulking in the corner.
[post_page_title]#8 Christmas Dinner Is Ruined[/post_page_title]
Once the presents are done, breakfast and or brunch are done, the family disperses to mess around with their gifts of the day. Once the dinner is in the oven, the gifts of the day become sentient and take Christmas for themselves. Judgment day is upon us.
[post_page_title]#9 I Was Putting Up Christmas Lights On My Roof A While Back When This Happened...[/post_page_title]
When it comes to Christmas decorations, some people truly go all out in a display brighter than the northern lights and tackier than a warehouse full of knock off Faberge Eggs. The effort that goes into Christmas really starts with the decorations and often sets the tone for the season! Right, so shall I ask for a new ladder, a better one or for someone to - HELP ME OFF THIS F**KING ROOF.
[post_page_title]#10 My Mom Left $300 Unattended, My Nephew (Special Little Kid) Thought It Was Just Papers. Merry Christmas, Mom[/post_page_title]
"Thank god we have that extra three-hundred for food this year, its really going to be something special?"
[post_page_title]#11 Neighbor Just Tried To Throw His Christmas Tree From The Balcony. Not Sure Where It Should’ve Landed Ideally[/post_page_title]
Something I've always enjoyed is how long people keep their trees up this time of year. Be them fake or real, the time really varies. Anyway, when comes the time to expel the festive leafy greens from your home, most will simply chop them up or places them on the roadside for collection. Most people...
[post_page_title]#12 I Ummmm... Uhhhhh... Merry Christmas![/post_page_title]
Here we are, AGAIN. Dogs are an absolute mystery. Yet at Christmas, you'd think owners would be far more cautious with what they leave their pets around. I mean, look at that face, I'm sure they were just trying to help with something!
[post_page_title]#14 I Bought My Dog An Advent Calendar, Who Then Explored All 24 Days Of Christmas While I Was Pumping Gas[/post_page_title]
Showering your pets with gifts, treats and all the things you normally wouldn't want them to get too used to is often cast by the wayside at Christmas. In all honesty, they are part of the family after all, so why not?!
Absolutely nothing can go wrong!
... ever!
[post_page_title]#15 Christmas Toy, Meet Dog's Water Bowl. Dog’s Water Bowl, Meet Christmas Toy[/post_page_title]
While we're still on the Christmas adventure that is having a dog, we have a life lesson for you to consider before its all way, way, way too late. BE SURE OF THE LOCATION OF YOUR DOG AT ALL TIMES. Christmas is full of joy, amazing food, family and gifted items galore! Dogs are aware of this.
[post_page_title]#16 Hid The Ham From The Dog In The Oven. On A Plastic Carving Tray. Turned The Oven On To Preheat For The Roast Turkey[/post_page_title]
Now, I imagine many of you are now questioning whether it is really worth having a dog? These instances in some way, shape or form can occur all year anyway but apparently are all the more prominent during the festive period and it really must be questioning the issue for all you prospective owners. First off, YES, it is worth having one, just be a little smarter this December. This human was on the right track but once again, the machines have the final say. Where is Sarah Connor when you need her?
[post_page_title]#17 Why The Wife Says We Can No Longer Have A Real Christmas Tree[/post_page_title]
Like many, I grew up with a real tree until the house was decorated and my mother got her way. Those pesky little needles would indeed get everywhere but in reality, it was never really that bad and I never completely understood the fuss of it all. Until now... Indeed, yes, completely fair enough! Carry on.
[post_page_title]#18 Got An Interesting Package In The Mail Today. I Have No Idea Who Sent It... Merry Christmas I Guess[/post_page_title]
Unwanted gifts are a staple of Christmas, it happens at least once every year and yet most of the time, they are still in good faith! Most of the time they are and most of the time, a simple smile, nod and a thank you are enough to move past whatever it is that you didn't want. Sometimes, oh sometimes, it's a little... harder.
[post_page_title]#19 Found On Snapchat. Someone Got A Great Christmas Present[/post_page_title]
Carrying over from unwanted gifts, we have those in which the sentiment was present and true, if not a little misguided. Imagine this, you've had an absolute clanger of a few weeks and irreparable damage to your life has left you deflated and down-trodden. You visit the family to feel better and distract yourself from it all, only to receive this...
[post_page_title]#20 Scrouge Hound?[/post_page_title]
We all know the story of Ebeneser Scrouge and his hateful attitude towards Christmas, and despite the happy ending of A Christmas Carol, his disdain was real, so real in fact the story of such has clear imprinted on the quadruped in this family. Seriously, keep the dogs away from the tree! This has been a cautionary tale.
[post_page_title]#21 Yep, This Just Happened! Very Lucky To Have No Injuries, Just Shattered About My Christmas Ham, Haha[/post_page_title]
Glass tables. Hot dishes.
[post_page_title]#22 Merry Christmas To Me! My Secret Pal Gift At Work Included Live Roaches And Roach Droppings[/post_page_title]
Secret Pal Gift, Secret Santa, the anonymous gift-giving exercise seen in the workplace each yeah is often a fun one. You have no idea what you are going to get, be it a piece of paper with a photo of something nice on it or actually something nice, the ambiguity is part of the fun! In this case, the final stage of this little light-hearted team building end of the year exercise was not. At all.
[post_page_title] #23 My Christmas Present [/post_page_title]
For myself, when I was still living at home, getting the game I'd been yearning for on Christmas day would mean running up to my room and immersing myself in whatever fantasy or fictional world I had been gifted. I miss those days! This is completely not what you want to find, personally I would either curl up in a ball and cry or go on a rampage of wanton destruction until I found the culprit! What about you?
[post_page_title]#24 Just About Died Getting This Up And None Of The Lights Work[/post_page_title]
Another for those house-proud builders of awe-inspiring displays or cozy festive homes for the Christmas season, the folly of this entry will likely hit home! That looks lovely too! What a shame!
[post_page_title]#25 My Parents Came Home To Their Christmas Tree This Morning[/post_page_title]
Christmas are beautiful, there is no denying that. However, once again on this list, physics is having some play into why Christmas is ultimately being ruined. Trees, Trees are ROOTED in the ground with ROOTS that support the ever-growing weight as the leafy-boii races to the sky to get as much sunlight as possible. This tree is clearly taller than even a reasonably tall human adult and yet has nothing but a flimsy plant pot to support its weight.
[post_page_title]#26 This Morning Some Kids Decided To Set Fire To My Boat. Merry Christmas[/post_page_title]
Do you remember my covert mentioning of boats earlier? If you noticed it, then you may well well have experienced some confusion. Boats on fire? Christmas? What? Strange, I'll give you that but still, not what you need!
[post_page_title]#27 My Dogs Just Knocked Over My Christmas Tree[/post_page_title]
On the third day of Christmas, my woofers gave to me...
... hindsight via something furryyyyy.
Dog + Christmas = Headache.
[post_page_title]#29 10 Foot Tall Christmas Tree Fell Over Today...[/post_page_title]
Right, so either this was a dog, poor planning on the part of whoever put it up or the spirit of old Scrouge has now got to the trees. You may recognize this from the cover image that again, likely brought you here, it just had to go in, I NEED TO KNOW. Judging from what I can see, getting that tree in the house in the first place seems like a struggle plain and simple. Who needs a 10ft tree INSIDE anyway?
[post_page_title]#30 Got A Flat Tire Last Night Over The Christmas Holidays, Nowhere Is Open To Fix It[/post_page_title]
Family obligations, Christmas is chockful of it! Ferrying loved ones around, ferrying friends around, ferrying in-laws that drive you insane from place to place, someone has to do it! And if it's not this it's rushing to town to get the last of the Christmas comestibles, needless to say, its a busy time of year if you drive! So with that said, this is not what you need now, is it?
lifestyle6 min(s) read
It is said that we make our own Christmas traditions. In the picture above, for example, this family obviously has waffles for their breakfast pre or post-super-fun-presents-time. You'll likely find that in most households there will be something akin to this localized tradition and that's great, it's fun and special for those involved.
However! What this also suggests, insinuates and often makes really quite down-right obvious is that the more that goes on, the more that can go wrong!

I wouldn't say this a person having a bad Christmas but this is still a problem, a rather laughable post-festive problem.

Christmas is a time of giving: family, friendship, parties, food, more food, things you can eat and presents that are often also things you can eat. However, it is also an absolutely unambiguous prime-time for the prank, the practical joke and those subtle little acts that will prompt both laughter momentary disdain and overt reactions exclaiming - "YOUVE RUINED CHRISTMAS, HOW COULD YOU?!?!?!" And so, here we have it, a collection of thirty examples where people, depending on the context, beholder, and spectator are having a little go at ruining Christmas in the most humourous (mostly) inconsequential manner possible. Join me in a few festive chuckles, would you?
[post_page_title]#1 Ruined? Or Made?[/post_page_title]
For this first example, it seems your position on the humor spectrum needs to be taken into account. Has this ruined your home-town Christmas? Landed a dark stain on your festive getaway or rather improved the lightheartedness of it all? I really hope this was a genuine mistake because it's all-the-more funnier if it was.
[post_page_title]#2 Surrounded by "Loved Ones"[/post_page_title]
Initially, I was going to place this absolute corker of a Christmas prank at the very end but the more I scrolled up and down my massive list, the more I couldn't resist its early entry! No judgment here, the festive season should always result in the ones you love (or admire) present and smiling (sort of).
[post_page_title]#3 Be Careful What You Wish For...[/post_page_title]
Fairplay. No one ever suspects cute little old Grandma. I do believe this young man's gently quip has resulted in either self-ruination of his December 25th or perhaps even made it. Either way, its place on this list is more than justified.
[post_page_title]#4 Accidental Brilliance[/post_page_title]
I'm sure this caused quite the varied set of reactions in the classroom, the playground and huge ensemble of parents waiting for their daily child collection duties to begin. Look at his face, that's Christmas cheer right there. Or is it? I reckon this Christmassy child knows EXACTLY what his jumper is showing.
[post_page_title]#5 Rude Not To![/post_page_title]
Now, with this one, I have a job for you. I want you to scroll slowly, take in the image and then upon seeing the white coloration at the end, know that it gets better, so much better. If you're going to ruin someone's Christmas, do it humorously, do it well and do it in such a manner as this. Utter genius is hard to come by these days.
[post_page_title]#6 Christmas (Dinner) IS Absolutely Ruined![/post_page_title]
Once again, do me a favor and scroll, scroll away. Once again, this thread's comments are golden, but I think we need to look deeper into this. What if, now hear me out, the family cooking operations were divided and this was but one facet of the operation?
[post_page_title]#7 Ruination Two-fold? Maybe.[/post_page_title]
Each to their own when it comes to Christmas. Some people enjoy it more than others and within that, some enjoy certain aspects above all else. Much like this furry Quadruped. By prospective and likely in the past destroying the tree, el pooch-hound here would be having the time of his life but also ruining Christmas for his owners.
[post_page_title]#8 This...[/post_page_title]
... is ...too real.
[post_page_title]#9 'Every Year I'm In Charge Of The Nativity And This Year I've Out Done Myself'[/post_page_title]
Please refer to the title of this entry when an explanatory copy is required. Brilliant. The Christian story of Christmas is one we all know, and one we have all heard more times than we care to count, and so, why not jazz it up a little? Again, brilliant.
[post_page_title]#10 Each Tree According To Its Own Decorator[/post_page_title]
Decorate your trees as you will humans of Christmas time! What is most amusing about this little tiny-toe-Jesus is that severed body parts are often synonymous with hell, and this piece is about people HELL-bent on ruining the festive fun. I'm just connecting the dots here.
[post_page_title]#11 Happy Lens Crafters![/post_page_title]
Once again, genius is the true gift of Christmas with no ruination in-sight. I mean, I'm this could be spun round into something negative but what really would be the point? Tongue-in-cheek wins the day.
[post_page_title]#12 Savage Christmas Times In This House[/post_page_title]
Poking fun at or partaking in actions designed to stir those into an annoyed temperament at this time of year is a common past-time. Don't lie now, you know you have yourself jibed at loves ones and chucked all the live-long day.
However, as fun as it is for you, others find it amusing too...
[post_page_title]#13 'For A Minute I Thought My Dad Had Got Me The Best Present Ever...'[/post_page_title]
Parents are the true and unchallengeable masters of the Christmas ruination! Let us never forget or underestimate their raw power! HEED THOSE WORDS!
[post_page_title]#14 'I Bet It's A Book..'[/post_page_title]
Cats are known to see humans as their underlings. Take that feline! This would also be an excellent gift for someone who is less-inclined towards the popular household pet and thus ruining Christmas. This list is so educational!
[post_page_title]#15 'Family Christmas Photobomb'[/post_page_title]
The family photo is a sometimes stressful experience any time of year let alone at Christmas, and there are always a few jokers and witty rapscallions dotted about who only live to ruin such occasions! Enter this next image. LOOK HOW ACCOMPLISHED IT LOOKS!
[post_page_title]#16 'I Can't-Wait To See The Tree!'[/post_page_title]
... said NOT the person who captured this image. Imagine if decorating the Christmas tree was your absolute favorite thing to do ever in all the world's plethora of activities. Imagine having to get this out of the box without compromising it or the boxes' structural integrity.
[post_page_title]#17 'MAKE IT STOP!'[/post_page_title]
I guess this is growing up. *Insert 'Dammit' by Blink-182 here*. This made me laugh as much as it did nod in compliant resignation. How long can we really fight this for? IT'S ALL RUINED! WAAAAA!
[[pagebreak]]
[post_page_title]#18 'What A CHEAP Joke'[/post_page_title]
You know who and/or what is absolutely HELL-bent on ruing Christmas in its omnipresent limitless existence? Ebeneser Scrouge! No, but close. CAPITALISM. The answer is capitalism.
[[pagebreak]]
[post_page_title]#19 Some Never Grow-Up...[/post_page_title]
Being a child is fun, but what is perhaps more fun is how much you can revert to this previous stage in your existence at Christmas once you have reached societally accepted adulthood. Once again, I proudly salute and include an image showing someone hell-bent on ruining a microcosmic localized Christmas in the best way possible.
[post_page_title]#20 'This Is One Of The Funniest Holiday Cards I have Ever Seen'[/post_page_title]
Here we are again, an image prompting a few lines depicting a point that suggests that someone, somewhere, has likely taken offense and had their precious Christmas ruined. Unconventional Christmas be damned! Or you could just laugh like the person who received this absolutely brilliant modern jibe at Christmas time.
[post_page_title]#21 It's a Boxed Up Life, For Us![/post_page_title]
Christmas, Christmas, Christmas. It's not just about the presents you know! It is the manner in which said presents are presented that really matters!
[post_page_title]#22 Even The Internet Is Chipping In![/post_page_title]
Typing in random or loosely focussed sentences, questions and statements into search-engine fields or address bars is what it is and what it is insanely fun and a perfect momentary cure for boredom! Ruined those old-time and overtly overplayed Christmas numbers or... made them better?
[post_page_title]#23 'This Guy Gets Christmas'[/post_page_title]
Take the tradition of it all and make it your own! He really does get Christmas! Hats off spikes up and then hats back on! This Punk's wonderful jibe at Christmas surely annoyed someone? Surely! No? It didn't? Good.
[post_page_title]#24 An Investigative Need For Deeper Meaning... And A Little Humor[/post_page_title]
Sometimes, you simply can't just leave well alone and that can bother people. Sometimes though, the same old same old bothers people, and it just sits there in need of a little festive refreshment via a little dry-witted excellence. Christmas people for reindeer justice! This is our year! We stand with Rudolph!
[post_page_title]#25 Off Home For Christmas? Lock Your Door...[/post_page_title]
As much this would have been a post-Christmas present, the point stands and its place on this list is absolutely substantiating. Imagine the effort it took to do this?! Imagine the effort it took to remedy this?!? Merry Christmas and be thankful for what you already have, unless it belongs to the university that is, be thankful for - and so on.
[post_page_title]#26 Happy Scare-mass![/post_page_title]
'Ohhhhhhhh that's so cuteeeeee!' Or is it? Scroll and think about that. How is the ruining Christmas I hear you ask? WELL! Either you are now completely and utterly terrified of Christmas altogether, having recurring nightmares of this image or at the very least now complete petrified of Christmas trees!
[post_page_title]#27 Whatever Seasons Your Greetings![/post_page_title]
I've never been one for Christmas cards. This woman might have changed my mind.
[post_page_title]#28 Christmassy Geographical Inspiration![/post_page_title]
Personally, I love this but sadly, this husband's attempt to change-up the family Christmas fell foul of traditional-or-nothing eyes! Three minutes is the new benchmark! Make Christmas spicey again! Down with the same old!
[post_page_title] #29 Here Come The Three Kings! [/post_page_title]
This is another that begs the question of who is the real festive troll here? Who took it upon themselves to ruin the family Christmas photos that tediously permeate the annual event? Was it Johnny? Maybe. Does it matter? No! Hilarious and subtle ruination wins the day once more! Rejoice! It's a Christmas miracle.
[post_page_title]#30 This Is End...[/post_page_title]
... not only of another one of these insightful and partially educational lists but of CHRISTMAS ENTIRELY! It was true. IT WAS ALL TRUE! Whoever decided to let these tearaways out in time for their festively-ferocious-five-finger-festival has truly gone and done it! Ruination, RUINATION!

Being a child is fun, but what is perhaps more fun is how much you can revert to this previous stage in your existence at Christmas once you have reached societally accepted adulthood.

2. At least it's original?
3. This has to be the laziest gift ever
4. Did she at least have a dog?
5. This actually sounds pretty neat to me
6. I'd be flamin' annoyed, too
7. That stinks
8. A classic case of re-gifting right here
9. It's the (lack of) thought that counts
10. At least this way you'd end up with something good
So, if you wake up tomorrow morning and find that the big fat man from the North Pole has left you a slightly rubbish prezzie, just think of the folks around the world who are currently unwrapping second-hand socks from their secret Santa. They almost certainly have it worse than you.
