Earlier this week, Drake made the news for giving out a tip at a McDonald's location following a midnight run for food. It's a story that has been reported by several news outlets across the globe, as the internet fawned over the rapper and his seemingly never-ending generosity.

But it has emerged that the story did not unfold as first thought, and that while Drake is generous, he is not quite as generous as initially reported. The source of the story was a tweet from USC student AJ Noel (Twitter handle @imajnoel) who revealed that he'd just seen Drake underneath the Golden Arches.

"And he gave two female employees $10,000 each... in cash," added the student, and although it's not clear what influenced AJ to believe that Drake had given out such an amount, there have been emerging reports that the actual sum was nowhere near that amount.

A representative from McDonald's revealed to E! News in a statement: "Despite early reports, McDonald's learned that the amount Drake tipped each employee was $100 not $10,000." Drake did visit the McDonald's in question, however, and posted a picture on Instagram confirming that fact.

But on closer inspection, there might be more to this seemingly random visit to McDonald's than we initially thought. Drake, of course, released a joint track with Meek Mill entitled Going Bad, in which the 32-year-old rapped: "It’s just a lil’ 10-piece for her/Just to blow it in the mall/Doesn’t mean that we’re involved."

It's entirely possible that the gift was, in fact, a nod to that verse. Regardless of the amount of money given, the internet was delighted to see Drake in public, giving back to the regular man. One person on Twitter wrote: "Generous King," while another tweeted: "The world should have more people like him."

Of course, this isn't the first time that Drake's generous side has come out - this isn't even the first time it's happened underneath the Golden Arches. Back in October, after playing at the Forum in Inglewood, California, Drake treated his fans to some McDonald's at an afterparty in the West Hollywood club Poppy.

With the likes of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star EJ Johnson present at the afterparty, spotted helping himself to some Chicken McNuggets, there were reportedly french fries and cheeseburgers on trays, with neon lights in the shape of McDonald's' signature Golden Arches.

Drake also showed his giving side in the music video for his song God's Plan: Drake can be seen handing out thousands of dollars in cash to random people in Florida. On top of that, he bought groceries for more Florida citizens, and even donated a sum of $200,000 to students at the University of Miami.

While the sum proposed was not quite as initially reported, what is without dispute is that despite his immense fame and wealth, Drake is always ready to give back to the community.

A mom-of-three was left in tears after a kind stranger decided to pay for her grocery shopping when she was short on a few dollars.

Beth Nelson from the Manchester area in the United Kingdom took to TikTok to recall an interaction that happened between her and a stranger while the pair were at the grocery store.

After realizing she didn't have enough money to cover her weekly shop, which totaled up to £41.65 ($50.55), the distressed mom was left compromising on the things she would need for her children when a good samaritan approached her.

"I was doing the food shop today... and this is all we've got for a family of four for a week," Nelson said through tears as she showed her followers a counter filled with everyday necessities.

"I got to the till and I didn't have enough... and people were staring at me," she continued. "I was trying to decide what do we need more than something else and somebody came forward and paid the extra."

The mom-of-three then stated that the woman had also said that she "wants a word with [her] outside," to which Nelson thought that she was going to be berated, but instead, it was quite the opposite as the stranger offered her some kind words instead.

She even gave her a bit of extra money to help her through the week before offering her a big hug.

"The woman was really nice," Nelson said, after re-composing herself. "She gave me a massive hug and said that she had been in the same position before. She reminded me that just because I am struggling at the moment does not mean that I am a bad mom."

Hundreds of TikTokers took to the comment section to also offer their kind words to the emotional mother.

"That lady was there for a reason, I guarantee your chance will come along to be that Lady," wrote one user while another added: "I know this too week, I have to make £20 stretch for me and my son every week. I go without so he doesn’t, you’re a great [mom] doing her best."

"You are NOT a bad mom, things are so hard right now, the struggle is real, you're not the only 1 so don't ever think u are less than, chin up, big hug," commented a third.

And this user told Nelson not to think she's a bad parent: "Please NEVER ever think your [sic] a bad mom for struggling. You are doing your best for your family & that is all you can do."

"Bless I’m in that position myself and I’ve still paid for an old man’s shopping who had pennies in his hands. Cost of living crisis is killing us," said this TikToker.

The United Kingdom is currently seeing an overwhelming cost of living crisis ever since 2021 which means that the cost of everyday essentials like food and bills has been increasing more quickly than the average household income.

According to Crisis, this current environment combined with existing issues such as rising rents, low wages, and a lack of affordable housing has "created a perfect storm for people who were already struggling with unrelenting pressure."

However, the power couple isn't just hoarding their cash to buy Picasso paintings and make clones of themselves so they can harvest their organs and live forever. They're giving back. In each of the 11 cities on their On The Run 2 tour, they're giving a $100,000 scholarship to an exceptional student with financial needs.

At Bey-Z's Phoenix, Arizona concert, DJ Khaled was on stage to announce the winning student's name. He called the moment the "best part of the night." "On The Run II tour will acknowledge an extraordinary individual making a difference in this world," read the motivational DJ. "Tonight a student will receive a $100,000 On The Run II scholarship presented by the queen herself, Beyonce, and also the king, Jay Z."

He explained that the scholarship will go to a member of Boys and Girls Club, a national organization that offers after-school programs to help young people reach their full potential as citizens. Nineteen teenagers from the Phoenix chapter was invited to the concert, but nobody knew who would win. DJ Khaled announced the lucky student was "a true role model with a 3.7 GPA, a future marine biologist... Mikayla Lowry!"

"I'm so grateful, this is crazy!" said Mikayla in the video. "I didn't even expect this - I'm shaking! Thank you so much!" According to the BGC website, Mikayla is a senior at Trevor Browne High School with excellent, and is dual-enrolled at Estrella Mountain Community College. She is first in her family to attend college and it would have been incredibly difficult for her to afford tuition without this scholarship. She plans to pursue a degree in Marine Biology or Forensics at Grand Canyon University or Northern Arizona University. 

Mikayla has been a member of the Boys and Girls Club for over a decade, ever since she was six years old. She was the Torch Club President, the Keystone Vice President, the 2018 of the Year for the Stewart Branch, so volunteered many hours serving in soup kitchens and shelters. So, yeah, she earned it! And after the show, she got to meet Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Previously Bey and Jay performed in Houston, Texas and surprised teenager Alezae Uresti. The Ball High school senior comes from a single parent home, and is one of four siblings. She told ABC that she always wanted to go to college, and that the Boys and Girls Club is like her second home. 

After the concert, Alezae got to meet Hov and Queen B, which was quite the experience. "I didn't know what to say," said the teen. "[Beyoncé] gave me a huge hug and Jay-Z was just like chilling, you know. So I gave her a hug and then after that, me and Beyonce took a picture and I told Jay-Z, 'Come on, come on, get in the picture', so we all took a picture."

Across the 11 cities, Beyoncé and Jay-Z will be awarding $1.1 million in scholarships. Congratulations, teens! Now you have 99 problems but tuition isn't one.

Drake had an "embarrassing" moment during a recent livestream when his credit card declined as he tried to gift a fan $500.

The 36-year-old Canadian rapper - whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham - appeared on a special Kick livestream over the weekend, in an effort to promote Stake - an online crypto-casino.

The special event involved him giving away a whopping $1 million to fans, which was why he tried to gift a fan named Daisy some money before his card was rejected.

The 'Rick Flex' rapper was stunned that the act of generosity failed to go as planned and said: "Bro! Embarrassing," to fellow rapper Lil Yachty, who was partaking in the livestream with him.

A fan shared the hilarious moment on Twitter with the caption: "Drake's card just got declined on stream," and the post earned 30.2 million views on the platform.

Many users couldn't help but joke about the mishap as one person said: "Bro he can’t be real," while another commented: "If Drake's card declines that's gotta be a problem with Visa or sumn ain't no way."

A third user penned: "The way Drake said embarrassing is exactly how I expected him to say it."

The 'Hotline Bling' rapper first joined Stake in December 2021 and has since used the crypto-casino platform to make a number of outrageous bets.

He confessed to Barstool Sports that he loves to gamble, stating: "I sounded way too enthusiastic about that, but yeah, I really do like to gamble."

However, some of these wildly extravagant risks have resulted in so many stomach-curdling losses, such as losing $1 million in December after betting on the World Cup final between Argentina and France, according to The Independent. Although he had successfully chosen Argentina to win, his bet didn't include the match going into overtime and penalties.

In addition to this, Drake lost $400,000 after betting that Jake Paul would defeat Tommy Fury during their fight in Abu Dhabi in February. After the fight, Paul joked that he lost because of the Drake "curse," saying with a laugh: "Drake, bro, why did you do this to me?," per the Daily Mail.

Furthermore, he also lost $275,000 last March when he bet that Jorge Masvidal would succeed against Colby Covington at UFC 272 in Las Vegas.

But despite it all, the Grammy-winning star has had some wins such as pocketing $1.2 million after betting $700,000 on the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LVII.

Most recently, he wagered $250,000 that the Denver Nuggets would defeat the Miami Heat in five games in the NBA finals, which would earn him $850,000. The two teams are currently tied at one game apiece after playing two games.
