Euphoria actor Angus Cloud's mother, Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin, has shared an emotional post, claiming that her son did not take his own life.

This week, the entertainment world was left stunned this week by the sudden death of the much-loved 25-year-old actor, who was best known for his portrayal of Fezco in the HBO series.

Cloud skyrocketed to fame on the Emmy-winning series, Euphoria, and acted alongside talents such as Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, and Alexa Demie.

The TV drama granted the late star a powerful platform to depict complex narratives surrounding mental health, a struggle he openly battled with off-screen as well.

It was reported that on Monday (July 31), Cloud was found unresponsive at his family's home in Oakland, with Oakland Fire Department revealing to NBC News that they were called to the house at around 11:30AM but the "patient was determined to already be deceased" upon arrival.

His grieving family confirmed the devastating news in a statement to TMZ which read: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways."

The statement continued to shed light on his recent personal struggles, stating: "Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.

"Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

"We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss," the family concluded.

While the exact circumstances surrounding Cloud's death are yet to be disclosed, the family's statement implies he was in "deep grief" over the death of his father - who passed from a "brief fight with cancer" - a few weeks before.

Days after the heartbreaking news, the late star's mom took to Facebook to reveal that her son's final day was "a joyful one" and added "[it’s] abundantly clear" he wasn’t considering suicide.

Read Cloud's mom's post below:

"Friends, I want you all to know I appreciate your love for my family at this shattered time," she began the post. "I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father's untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one."

Lisa went on to describe his final day, stating that he reorganized his room, and placed items around the house "with intent to stay a while in the home he loved," adding: "He spoke of his intent to help provide for his sisters at college, and also help his mom emotionally and financially."

The grieving mom said that he "did not intend to end his life," explaining that the night before Cloud's death, he hugged and expressed his love to her, before telling her that he would see her that following morning.

"I don't know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art projects, fell asleep, and didn't wake up," she wrote.

Lisa went on to say that though "we may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically," it is "abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world." She said that his "struggles were real," and that he "gave and received so much love and support to and from his tribe".

She penned that his "head injury 10 years ago miraculously didn't result in death as it almost always does. He was given 10 bonus years and filled them with creativity and love," and said that despite "social media posts [that] have suggested his death was intentional," this is not "not the case".

The actor's mom concluded her post by asking those who wish to honor her son's memory to "please make random acts of kindness part of your daily life. Bless your hearts".

Our thoughts continue to be with Cloud's family, friends, and fans at this time.
