More details are beginning to emerge surrounding the tragic, untimely passing of Euphoria actor Angus Cloud.

The 25-year-old, who played big-hearted drug dealer Fezco on HBO's Euphoria, died in his family's home in Oakland on Monday morning (July 31).

In a statement to TMZ, Cloud's family said: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways."

"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

The Euphoria star's mother reportedly made a 911 call at around 11:30AM, telling police her son may have taken a 'possible overdose', sources told TMZ. The outlet reported that she informed police Cloud didn't have a pulse and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

A person close to the family has claimed the actor had been dealing with "severe suicidal thoughts" since the passing of his father, whose funeral was held in Ireland last week.

An investigation has been launched into the actor's death, with no cause of death as yet determined. The family statement released to TMZ did clarify that Cloud had struggled immensely with the loss of his father.

On July 14, Cloud had shared an image of his late father with the caption, "miss u breh". His final post on the platform came on July 18, where he flashed a set of white gold grills on his teeth for a company called Grantz Grillz, in a picture that was geotagged by the company in Dublin, Ireland.

Euphoria's Twitter page also shared a statement following the tragic news of Cloud's passing, saying: "We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time."

As well as his role as Fezco on the much-heralded HBO show, Cloud also starred in The Line opposite John Malkovich earlier this year as well as North Hollywood in 2021, alongside guest appearances in music videos for artists such as Becky G, Karol G, and Juice WRLD.

Regarded as one of the fastest-rising stars in Hollywood, Cloud also had a number of projects in development at the time of his passing, having recently secured a notable role alongside Melissa Barrera in an upcoming Universal Pictures horror film. The directors of Scream 6, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, are set to direct.

Our thoughts are with Cloud's family and friends at this painful time.
