Angus Cloud, the much-loved late Euphoria star died just days after his dad's funeral, and his father's cause of death has now been confirmed.

The entertainment world was left stunned this week by the sudden death of the 25-year-old actor, who was best known for his portrayal of Fezco in the HBO series.

It was reported that on Monday (July 31), Cloud was found unresponsive at his family's home in Oakland, with Oakland Fire Department revealing to NBC News that they were called to the house at around 11:30AM but the "patient was determined to already be deceased" upon arrival.

His grieving family confirmed the devastating news in a statement to TMZ which read: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways."

The statement continued to shed light on his recent personal struggles, stating: "Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.

"Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

"We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss," the family concluded.

While the exact circumstances surrounding Cloud's death are yet to be disclosed, the family's statement implies he had struggled to process his father's death.

Cloud's father, Conor Hickey, sadly passed away in Ireland on May 18, and his death has been revealed to be following a "brief fight with cancer," according to a Facebook post re-shared by his mother, Lisa Cloud Mclaughlin.

Sharing photos of his memorial service in another post, Lisa wrote: "He would have been so honored that so many young people came to express how much they appreciated their support from him. Our home welcomed all our kids 'homies'. About 100 people showed up at Emeryville Marina where we spent many happy times over many happy years."

"My fella lived large and loud! His cancer moved quickly which was devastating to all who loved him, but there is comfort in the fact that his pain wasn't prolonged," she added.

Connor was a former captain of the Ashbourne Rugby Club in his native Ireland and they also shared a heartfelt obituary to him, writing that he was a "legend in the early days of Ashbourne Rugby Club and a force of nature in the backrow!"

He was laid to rest in his home country, where he lived with his wife before they relocated to California in the 80s. The couple shared three children, twin daughters Molly and Fiona Hickey, and their late son, Cloud.

Cloud had paid tribute to his late father on Instagram in one of his final social media posts just two weeks before his own tragic death.

The devastating post was a post a picture of his smiling father in a red hoodie and red sweats, with the heartbreaking caption: "Miss u breh."

Cloud skyrocketed to fame on the Emmy-winning series, Euphoria, and acted alongside talents such as Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, and Alexa Demie.

The TV drama granted the late star a powerful platform to depict complex narratives surrounding mental health, a struggle he openly battled with off-screen as well.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (August 1), Zendaya shared an emotional tribute to her friend and co-star, penning: "Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor).

"I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it) I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…'they could light up any room they entered' but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it.

"I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love, and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment. My heart is with his mother and family at this time and please be kind and patient as grief looks different for everyone," she concluded.

Our thoughts continue to be with Cloud's family, friends, and fans at this time.
