A flirtatious exchange between singer Demi Lovato and Bachelorette star Mike Johnson has got tongues wagging on social media.

This came after 27-year-old Lovato posted a bikini snap of herself on Instagram, along with an inspirational quote about her journey to body confidence, and an acknowledgment that she still, at times, struggles to love the skin she is in.

"This is my biggest fear," she wrote. "A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it's CELLULIT!!!! I'm just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it (yes the other bikini pics were edited - and I hate that I did that but it’s the truth) so that others think I’m THEIR idea of what beautiful is, but it's just not me [sic]."

"This is what I got," she continued. "I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else's standards. So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day."

"Just so everyone's clear. I'm not stoked on my appearance BUT I am appreciative of it and sometimes that's the best I can do. I hope to inspire someone to appreciate their body today too."

In response to this, the comments section was flooded with messages of support and admiration from fans and fellow celebs alike.

"Look at me like that again," Bachelor star, Mike Johnson, wrote. "Love yaself."

Acknowledging his comment, Lovato replied with a kiss face and a tongue-sticking out emojis.

This was much to the excitement of fans who have "shipped" a potential romance between the pair since the singer said Johnson was her favorite cast member on the most recent season of the reality TV show.

"Mike I accept your rose," she wrote on Instagram stories.

However, when asked about a potential romance, Johnson said nothing had happened between the pair... yet.

In an interview with People magazine, he said: "We have not connected and we have not exchanged any freaky texts at all."

"She would definitely be cool to reach out to, but neither one of us have reached out to each other," he said. "I think she’s sexy, she's got a nice little booty on her and she has [a] good voice."

If the two get together, it will be far from the first time a reality star has bagged themselves a well-known celeb. Tyler Cameron, who was a Bachelorette runner up, for example, recently started dating Gigi Hadid.
