Comedian, Amy Schumer, has opened up about her struggles with IVF in a revealing Instagram post.

Schumer took to the photo sharing platform to share a photo of her bruised stomach, revealing that she was one-week into treatment. The 38-year-old even went so far as to share her phone number, and asked people to reach out to her about their own fertility issues.

Amy Schumer speaks about how her husband's Autism diagnosis affected their marriage:

"Feeling really run down and emotional," she captioned the post. "If anyone went through it and if you have any advice or wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with me please do. My number is in my bio. We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling."

The comments section was quickly inundated with messages of support. "Oh Amy!! I have no experience to share. Just sending the biggest hug," wrote one Instagram user, while another sympathised "You are amazing. can’t even imagine what you’re going through. sending you all the love and support in the world."

"I appreciate you as a mother, a woman, a public figure, your vulnerability is so powerful," added body positivity activist and model, Tess Holliday.

And pop-star, Selena Gomez wrote "I’m praying for you and Chris. I’m sorry!"

Back in October, HBO Max - a new streaming service which is set to launch in the spring of 2020 - announced that they ordered a documentary which followed Schumer through her first pregnancy.

The comedian suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition which causes chronic nausea and sickness, and was hospitalised several times as a result. The I Feel Pretty star shared much of her journey on social media at the time, but will be revealing more in the doc, which has purportedly been titled Expecting Amy.

Amy, who gave birth to her son Gene in May last year, will be sharing never-before-seen clips, as she juggled her pregnancy with her work schedule, and of course, we can expect a fair amount of her trademark humour too.
