Being married to a celebrity must be hard - just think about having to deal with the stress of your partner's negative publicity all the time. Now imagine that you're Kim Kardashian, and you'll probably have to multiply that headache by about 1000 times. Kanye West, Kim's spouse, has never been the kind of man to shy away from controversy, and the last couple of months have been no different.
Recently Kanye, who has fully endorsed Donald Trump throughout his first term, met with the president at the White House, and the two men appeared to get on famously, with Kanye even giving Trump a fond hug. However, their chumminess has provoked outrage in the African-American community, with many accusing him of being an 'Uncle Tom.' Now it seems that Kanye's antics have turned the rest of the Kardashian family against him, including Kim herself.
A source has told People magazine that Kanye has made Kim feel: "very uncomfortable and unhappy with the whole situation. She finds Kanye brilliant, so it makes her upset when he goes on these public rants and comes across as someone who isn’t well...She knows he isn’t healthy right now, but it’s impossible to get across to him."
The same source allegedly stated that "[Kim] lets [Kanye] take the lead, and she never disagrees with him publicly. She has decided that’s the right move, but she isn’t scared to share her disagreements with him behind closed doors. Don’t think that she’s afraid of him, because she’s not. She’s just managing him the best she can. Having all this backlash against Kanye is embarrassing for her and her family, but she will never say that."
Kanye, Kim and their daughter North are currently in Uganda together, as Kanye is due to record a track for his ninth studio album Yandhi along with rapper Big Sean. The family is allegedly staying at the luxurious Chombe Safari Lodge in Murchison Falls National Park.
After West's meeting with Trump made the news, Rapper TI took to Instagram to disparage him, writing: "I’ve been extremely patient and made it a point to not jump to any premature conclusions about Ye. But now this sh*t is next level, futuristic Sambo, Hopping Bob, Stephen off Django [Unchained] ass s**t. You ass kissing and bootlicking on a whole new level and I refuse to associate myself with something so vile, weak, [and] inconsiderate to the effect this has on the greater good of ALL OUR PEOPLE ... At one time it was a pleasure to work alongside you... now, I’m ashamed to have ever been associated with you. [sic]"
It remains to be seen in Kanye's reputation will be able to recover from his affiliation with Trump, but he's never been one to bow to public opinion, so it's pretty unlikely that he'll back down. What else would you expect from him at this stage?
