Everyone has their own rules when it comes to how fast new relationships should move. For some, it's all about taking the time to get to know one another; for others, there's no problem with moving in together after six weeks or swapping I-L-Ys after just a few days, because after all, when you know, you know. But for a few, even these kind of grandiose displays of affection aren't quite enough - and it seems like pop-singer Ariana Grande's new man is firmly in this category.

The chart-topper's new boyfriend, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, has been revealed to have had not one but two tattooed tributes to the songstress, despite having been dating for just a few weeks. Although the relationship was initially said to be very casual, it seems things have stepped up a notch as Pete, 24, showed off Ariana's initials inked in swirly writing onto his thumb, as well as the iconic bunny ears that feature on the cover of her Dangerous Woman album just behind his own left ear.

The tattoos come just days after Pete officially confirmed their romance by posting a cute snap of them in matching Harry Potter outfits with the caption: "The chamber of secrets has opened...", to which Ariana replied with the rather cheeky comment "u tryna slytherin (i'm deleting my account now)", much to the delight of the internet. Believed to be the handiwork of London Reese, an LA-based tattoo artist, they will add to Pete's already extensive collection of tats, which also includes Hilary Clinton's face on his leg.

Ariana's new romance was revealed just weeks after she ended her two-year relationship with rapper Mac Miller, a situation that she described as "toxic" in an impassioned response to criticism aimed at her decision to leave him:

"I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be. I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course) but shaming/blaming women for a man’s inability to keep his shit together is a very major problem. Let’s please stop doing that. Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening, but it was. I will continue to pray from the bottom of my heart that he figures it all out and that any other woman in this position does as well."

Of course, hasty as these tattoos may seem, on the grand scale of celebrity romances they're still taking things pretty slowly - like, remember when Emily Ratajkowski secretly married her boyfriend of all of five minutes just a few months ago? But so as long as they're happy, who is anyone else to judge - and hey, if it all does go wrong then at least tattoo artists can do some pretty amazing cover-ups these days.
