Halsey's Back to Badlands tour has taken an alarming turn after shocking footage surfaced online showing the singer appearing to be inappropriately touched by fans mid-performance.
The 31-year-old star is currently traveling across America to mark the 10-year anniversary of her debut album, per News.com.au.
She was performing her hit song 'Is There Somewhere in Minneapolis' when a troubling incident unfolded at the edge of the stage.
The footage, now viewed more than 12 million times on X, begins with a surreal moment: a fan reaches up and places their entire hand over Halsey’s face.
The singer, caught off guard, reacts with a moment of stunned disbelief. But the bizarre encounter didn’t stop there.
As Halsey continued engaging with the crowd - holding hands and leaning into the energy of her loyal base - another audience member reached under her short leather skirt and grabbed her backside.
The contact didn’t go unnoticed. A gloved hand - either another fan or a member of security - swiftly intervened, peeling the offending hand away from Halsey’s body.
Social media users erupted in outrage after the incident went public.
One viral tweet read: “I can’t even believe i have to say this. Respect Halsey and DO NOT touch her or anyone like this without their consent. You people are unbelievable.”
Others echoed similar sentiments. “Why r ppl doing this ?? have we not learned respect, there’s no excuse for this,” another fan wrote. One added simply: “This is just mind boggling! Like, WTF!”
A different viewer tweeted that the footage made them “sick to the stomach,” while another lashed out: “Halsey is too nice, she should’ve thrown the mic at their face.”
One person who claimed to witness the incident firsthand shared their take on social media: "Here it is up close and a grand example of what NOT to do during ITS.
"You can hear me telling [the fan] to take her hand down and see me grabbing it after security was nice enough to give her little warning taps. It’s so unfortunate and I hope this doesn’t happen again ANYWHERE."
Another fan was even more blunt in their criticism: "Hey, so let’s not touch Halsey’s thigh and/or a** during 'Is There Somewhere'! That is so f***ing not okay. Whoever this is - shame on you!!!"

Despite the wave of backlash, Halsey has yet to publicly address the groping incident. On Instagram, she posted several photos from the night, sharing: “Video girl in DC by @averagecowgirl. Minneapolis tonight! These intimate crowds are filling my [heart emoji].”
In another caption, the singer expressed her passion for the tour experience: “What a night. I probably should have been exhausted, but instead I was coming out of my skin with mania and energy. I hope this tour never ends. I loved this evening so so so much. I hope you did too. BACK TO BADLANDS!”
