Elliot Page has shared a shirtless photo on Instagram showing off a seriously ripped physique, and it turns out boxing is to thank for it.
The 39-year-old actor posted a carousel on Sunday that included a photo alongside his New York-based boxing coach, Nolan Hanson, plus videos of himself sparring in the ring.
The six-pack was hard to miss.
"I've been incredibly fortunate to train with @coachnol," Page wrote.
"He's a brilliant teacher, not just in the way he breaks down complex movements, but also in his strategic understanding of boxing and his thoughtful approach to the psychological side of the sport."
He added: "Training with Nolan has become an essential part of my life. If you're in NYC and looking, I can't recommend him highly enough.
"Just be warned, you may end up getting as hooked as I am."
Based on the videos, pretty good.
Page can be seen throwing jabs and uppercuts in the ring, bobbing and weaving with the kind of form that suggests this is far more than a casual hobby.
TikToker @roejojo, who has sparred with Page at the gym, backed that up in a 2025 post, writing that the actor 'beat the heck out of me in sparring'.
Fans were equally impressed. Comments under the Instagram post included 'Holy f***ing abdominals' and 'Dude, you're ripped af'.
For anyone who has followed Page's journey over the past few years, the image carries a weight that goes well beyond fitness.
The Academy Award nominee came out as transgender in December 2020, sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram in which he said: "I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer."
He has since been remarkably open about how difficult life was before his transition.
In an interview with Jay Shetty, he admitted he 'didn't know how much longer he would last' living in a body that didn't feel like his own.
He described struggling to function on a basic level, unable to sit down or be productive.
He has also spoken about how doing press for his breakout film Juno in 2007 'almost killed' him, with the photo shoots and red carpets compounding a dysphoria he had not yet been able to name.
Since transitioning, the shift has been dramatic.
Page has described feeling comfortable in his own skin for the first time, and his first shirtless scene in the film Close to You was a moment he called 'liberating'.
He told Entertainment Weekly that showing a character "comfortable and present and waking up in his body" meant a lot to him, adding: "I never thought I'd feel that way."
So a shirtless boxing photo posted casually on Instagram is, in that context, a statement of its own.
Page will next appear on the big screen in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, an adaptation of Homer's ancient epic that is due for release later this summer. He plays the Greek soldier Sinon.
It is his second film with Nolan, having previously appeared in 2010's Inception - an experience he has since described as deeply stressful.
In his 2023 memoir Pageboy, he revealed he developed shingles on set due to the pressure of being surrounded by 'a cast full of cis men' at a time when he had not yet come out.
The Odyssey marks a very different chapter. Page has said that his relationship with acting is 'so much better' since transitioning.
"Literally everything in my life is better now," he told Shetty in that same interview.
Outside of work, Page has been in a relationship with comedian and actor Julia Shiplett since mid-2025, when the pair first sparked dating rumors during Pride Month.
They have kept things relatively private, though Page has occasionally shared glimpses of their relationship on social media.
His memoir Pageboy, released in June 2023, covered everything from his childhood to a secret two-year relationship with a closeted co-star, an affair with Kate Mara, and his relationship with Juno co-star Olivia Thirlby.
He has also spoken about knowing from the age of four that he should have been born male.
But the boxing photos suggest someone who is not dwelling on the past.
Page looks settled, strong, and very much at ease with who he is.
The abs are just a bonus.

Elliot Page has delighted fans with yet another selfie featuring his enviable set of washboard abs.
Page has had quite a year so far after coming out as transgender right at the end of 2020 and announcing that he now goes by the pronouns he/they.
This year has seen him open up about his gender identity, telling Time Magazine in March that he is now "fully who I am in this body".
He also spoke to Oprah Winfrey as part of her Oprah Conversations series, about his experience coming out as trans.
Needless to say, there are countless people rooting for The Umbrella Academy star as the increasingly confident actor's transition allows him to feel comfortable in his skin.
In fact, on Friday, August 13, the 34-year-old Juno actor took to his Instagram Stories to share a shirtless selfie - and fans were seriously impressed by his chiseled physique.
One person shared: "Mr. Elliot page looking so cute."
Another wrote: "OKAY BUT WHY TF AM I SO JEALOUS OF ELLIOT PAGE I JUST WANT TO HAVE HIS BODY AND IM ALSO REALLY PROUD OF HIM LOOK HOW PRETTY OUR BOY IS HES SO GODDAMN SHREDDED I LOVE."

It has been more than half a year since Page came out to his fans in a heartfelt post on Instagram, writing: "Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot."
He added: "I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life."
Page continued: "I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self.
"I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community. Thank you for your courage, your generosity and ceaselessly working to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place.
"I will offer whatever support I can and continue to strive for a more loving and equal society."

Elliot Page has taken to social media to showcase his incredible six-pack - declaring "trans is beautiful".
The 34-year-old actor shared the shirtless selfie with his 5.1 million Instagram followers, and captioned the touching post: "Trans bb’s first swim trunks".
In the snap, the Umbrella Academy star can be seen with a beaming smile, as he poses shirtless next to a swimming pool, wearing a pair of board shorts, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.
Page accompanied the post with two hashtags: "#transjoy" and "#transisbeautiful".
And since sharing the post on May 24, the actor has received an outpouring of praise in the post's comment's section:

Earlier this month, Page opened up about his top surgery in an interview with Oprah Winfrey for the host's new show for Apple TV+, Oprah Conversations.
"I want people to know that not only has it been life-changing for me, I do believe it is life-saving and it’s the case for so many people," the actor told the 67-year-old chat show icon.
The actor then became emotional when Winfrey asked what has brought him the most joy since transitioning. Page replied:
"It’s the little things…getting out of the shower and the towel’s around your waist and you’re looking at yourself in the mirror and you’re just like, 'There I am'."
Back in March, Page spoke to Time Magazine, about how he had always "felt like a boy", and for a long time, didn't "recognize" himself.
"For a long time, I could not even look at a photo of myself," he told Time, adding: "I wanted to be a boy. I would ask my mom if I could be someday."
"I’m really excited to act, now that I’m fully who I am in this body," he said. "No matter the challenges and difficult moments of this, nothing amounts to getting to feel how I feel now."

Elliot Page has received an outpouring of support as he proudly showed off his six-pack and top scars in an empowering selfie.
The 34-year-old Umbrella Academy star took to Instagram on Sunday (November 28) to share the shirtless selfie, jokingly captioning the post to his 5.6 million followers: "Oh good my new phone works."
In the snap, Page can be seen proudly showcasing his rippling abs, as well as his scars from his top surgery.
In less than 24 hours, the post has already amassed over 1.6 million likes and more than 20,000 comments from people showering the actor with praise.
"Looking awesome and clearly more comfortable in your skin. So happy for you," one supportive fan commented.
A second added: "Elliot Page thirst trap! I am here for it! You are embodying your confidence and I love it!"
A third Instagram user wrote: "You look incredible! Happy almost one year of coming out!"

It has been almost a year since Page came out as trans to his fans via a heartfelt post on Instagram, in which he wrote: "Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot."

Back in March, Page spoke about the significance of top surgery for him. (Of course, not all trans people feel they need to undergo top surgery. On the other hand, many trans people also struggle to afford the procedure.)
Page told Time Magazine that his top surgery was "not only life-changing but lifesaving."
The actor emphasized how puberty was "total hell" for him, and that he wasted so much energy being uncomfortable in his body at the time. However, following the surgery, he says he was able to recognize himself when he looks in the mirror and is once again full of energy.

Elliot Page has received an outpouring of praise on social media after sharing a shirtless poolside pic celebrating trans bodies.
On Monday, the Umbrella Academy star took to Instagram to share the topless snap with his 5.1 million followers. In the photo, Page can be seen wearing his "first swim trunk", as he shows of his impressive six-pack, the scars from his top surgery, and - most importantly - a beaming smile.
The 34-year-old captioned the touching post: "Trans bb’s first swim trunks", along with the two hashtags "#transjoy" and "#transisbeautiful".
In less than 15 hours, the post has amassed over 2.2 million likes on Instagram, and people have also taken to Twitter to share their responses to the actor's powerful image.
Buckle-up, because these reactions are raw, heartfelt, and overwhelmingly genuine.

Elliot Page has wowed fans with just how much his voice has changed in a new heartwarming video.
The 36-year-old actor - who came out as a transgender man in December 2020 - has been open about his journey and the joy he is experiencing now he feels more like himself.
Earlier this year, Page took to Instagram to post a shirtless image of himself following top surgery, and took the opportunity to open up about the importance of gender-affirming care and how this has impacted his life.
In the shot, the Umbrella Academy star can be seen smiling into the camera wearing only a snapback cap.
"Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer. No layers, just a T-shirt - or layers and oh so sweaty - constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T," Page began, adding: "It feels so [f**king] good soaking in the sun now, I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body. I am so grateful for what gender-affirming care has allowed me and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon."
The Canadian actor - who shot to fame for his role opposite Michael Cera in Juno prior to his transition - is also using his platform to promote positivity, spark discussions on transgender issues, and be transparent about his past body dysmorphia, which will be just some of the topics of discussion in his new memoir Pageboy.
In a recent Instagram video, Page was seen unboxing copies of his memoir in a touching moment, with his voice noticeably deeper than before his transition.
While the video was only brief, fans of the star rushed to the comments to praise and congratulate him on how far he's come in his journey.
"Yay!!!! your voice sounds so good btw!!!! [...] the trans joy radiates through all your posts. seeing you on my feed always makes me so happy. trans people are awesome [...]," one person wrote.
"It's the voice for me [...]," someone else added.
A further user commented: "How his voiced has changed! [sic]"
"I cant wait to read it. you probably get this all the time but I grew up feeling such a connection to you. when you came out it was right after I came out. and when you began to transition, it was right after I did the same thing.
